Customs Question

Jan 11, 2013 16:59

Hello! This is mostly a question for any of you that live in the US (as this question deals with packages incoming into the US).

My Alice and the Pirates LP has been stuck in Customs in Chicago for a few days now. How long do your packages usually stay in customs before they are forwarded on?

lucky packs: other, request: information, *alice and the pirates

Mine have sat in there from a few hours to almost 9 days (during holiday/Sandy times) so I think it really just depends. I've never had a package go through Chicago customs though so I have no idea how their process is. In general the SF facility is pretty fast, and the NYC one is pretty slow (for me) but nothing I've ordered has ever hit Chicago!

i know! I've never actually had any of my things really stay in Customs for more than a couple hours usually. For some reason this LP and the present i ordered for my Secret Pal at my local meet both hit Chicago! I know it's a pretty big internatinal hub but i guess they always go there because i live in Indiana

For me it was never over a week, if stuck in LA or NYC

Depends on how high national security is, it seems. I've had stuff cleared on the same day it arrived to "OMG it's been weeks now!!! Let me have my stuff already you jerks!"

I live in Chicago and i have international packages go threw Chicago customs all the time, they usually don't take that long but i did notice recently one of my packages was there for 2 days and that was a long time, usually they go right threw. they may just be busy if you are not local to the Chicago area it may take longer to for it to get sorted threw to a different facility and to get to the correct location, also i checked a package last night and it said it was just dispacted to Chicago customs and it arrived at my door today, so it could be a lagged update. hopefully you get your things soon!!
