Help me find tights, please.

Do any American lolitas know of brick-and-mortar stores where I can buy some good quality, thick, opaque white and off-white/ivory/cream tights?

Target seems to have sweater tights. Those might be warm enough! Worth a look if you live near one. :)

I forgot about Target. I don't really think of it as a clothing store, I guess. Thanks!

Another odd suggestion, I usually hit thrift stores to see what they have and Goodwill tends to get a TON of tights and other winter type things. I've hit 2 this week and there was a lot of cute thick tights, unused, for super cheap!

I live in VA, but stores like Marshalls, Ross, T.J. Maxx, Nordstrom (or Nordstrom Raque) always seem to have really good selection for tights. Less department stores and more discount clothing type stores? I've gotten a lot of nice, cozy tights from these kinds of places :)
Also, Bass shoes has some really nice tights! I got fleece-lined tights there a couple of years ago, and they have definitely served me well. It looks like you can find locations here: http://shoes.about.com/od/shoe-outlet-stores/tp/PA-Bass.htm
Good luck!

I agree. The selection is random, but they'll usually have at least one or two really good deals on good tights.

Try Forever 21, H&M, American Apparel, and Urban Outfitters.

AA for sure, I love their tights actually, they're good quality and hardly ever run & I'm so tough on them.

They hardly run, you say? I'm intrigued now. I'll have to look to see where an American Apparel is near me. Thanks, you guys!

Another option is to double up on your thinner tights during cold weather. I have a few pairs of plain pale-pink tights that I wear under other light-colored tights in the winter for added warmth - it feels a bit silly at first, but the added layering can sometimes be warmer than a single thick pair of tights on their own!

I've actually done this before. It did feel really weird at first, but it did make the color of the outer tights nice and opaque. All my tights right now are either black or neon blue, though, so I'll have to get a lighter pair anyway. Thanks, though!

I got all of my opaque tights from Target (I don't have the sweater ones, just the normal ones but they are REALLY thick and good quality), I want to say they're the Merona premium ones. I also love that I can just chuck them in the wash on delicate and not have to worry about them like some of my other, more delicate, tights.

I think I had a pair of Merona ones once, and I did like them a lot. Now I know where to find them again, thanks!
