Brand Quality Question: MAM

Nov 03, 2007 23:37

In terms of quality, how would you rate MAM? On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being best. Also, if could rate the other major brands (BABY, AP, others) for context, that would be great. :3

(Rating in terms of construction, fabric quality, lace quality, etc.)

Apologies if there is already such a post! m(_ _)m

I guess 8? I would also rank meta a 7-8
I would give IW a 10 and baby and AP a 9.5

I give a-lidel a 2, putumayo a 6-7 and heart-e a 6.

Mam makes decently constructed goods in my weekly shop browsing experience. The materials they use are usually thick and good quality. They tend to not has as interesting designs as other brands. Personally i've owned a rather nice skirt from them and a nice cardigan (oh and a MA sweater).

This is a really good idea for a post! :D
I own a IW rose skirt and I think the quality is 10+++, it is beautiful. However, I can not compare it to other brands as all of my other clothing is hand made or off-brand.

Hmm I think I agree with bucktick, Mam sits at about a 7-8. The only problem they tend to have is they are a bit boring. They don't have prints and interesting things all that often.. but they do have some very good wardrobe building pieces.

For other brands, it really depends on the item in question. But here's the ranges I can give:
IW 8-9, Baby 7-9, AP 6-9, h.Naoto 6-9, Meta 6-9, Mary Magdalene 8-9, Victorian Maiden 7-9, etc.

I can't really give anything a 10 and be fair about it XD

~nods~ I agree about the lack of variety in MAM. It's the first time I've ever looked into seriously buying from them for a JSK, so I want to be sure it's worth the approx 300USD, or if I should stay with another brand. Thanks for the numbers! :3

Well, if it's really nice and it's something you really like I think it might be worth it. Their stuff is definitely quality, it won't be nasty or fall apart or anything :3

I would give them a 9 for quality of the skirts, but a 5 for choice of fabrics and lace for cut sew tops as mine have gotten worn.
