SPN 8x03

It's funny how different episode reactions tend to be between Tumblr folks and LJ folks. I read all the squee and the quoted dialogue on Tumblr and I can't help but think that I must be getting bitter in my old age. XD

Anyway, uh, I don't have a ton of positive stuff to say about this one. Stay away if you don't want me to harsh your squee.

I'm sorry you feel this way. I felt like that in season four. After "OMG Sam didn't save Dean why why", nothing can hurt me. Deep breaths, some denial, selective approach to canon, you can do it too. *hugs*

Yeah, Jessica Moore. He did have a chance at normal.

I think it's plausible for Sam to be this tired and disillusioned with hunter's life. He spent a whole year nomming delicious cake and petting fluffy dogs. Hunter life feels like a downgrade. I'm willfully ignoring any hints that Sam has moved on not only from hunting, but from Dean as well. *fingers in ears* LALALALA

I guess it's not really that I can't empathize with Sam wanting out so much as I'm confused as to why the writers are going down this road with his character.

I'm pretty new to this show, I started watching last winter, so I caught the last couple of episodes of S7 in real time but the rest was one long SPN marathon. It's a lot easier to be chill about frustrating episodes when you can just watch the next one immediately! All of this waiting between eps makes me over-think and stew and angst. Every week I say, 'I have to be more zen about this stupid show' and it never quite works. XD But the deep breaths are a good suggestion!

I agree with you so much on the forgetting about Stanford and Jess. Because Dean sure as heck hasn't, he's absolutely panicked and terrified that Sam's going to leave him again. Those conversations with him throwing the doors to his heart wide open are all about convincing Sam that Dean needs and wants him to stay.
