I've started reading Derek/Stiles Teen Wolf fics. I blame Paxlux and Entanglednow ;) Really, some amazing writers doing this pairing, so I finally gave in and watched the show, and now I have a summer crush. Browsing AO3 lots and reading lots - anyone want to pimp me any Derek/Stiles fic recs? Thanks!!

OMG, right? Me too. And I haven't even gotten around to Pax's TW fic. Entanglednow is excellent though. Here's a pretty good rec list (I didn't like all of them, but they're well organized and there's a lot of good stuff there.

Dira_Sudis is absolutely one of my favorite authors in Generation Kill fandom, so I'll definitely be reading everything of hers I can get my hands on. I've been in TW fandom all of about 3 weeks, lol, so it's not like I'm an expert on TW authors or anything. One thing I've noticed so far (other than the fact that SPN and Generation Kill have utterly SPOILED me in terms of quality of writing, because TW's is...spotty...at best) is that there's rather a lack of very explicit fic in the fandom and I'm...fond of that. *grins* I think it's very much "written by teenagers" as a rule, which, there's nothing wrong with being a teenage girl or liking teenage girl things, but I am most definitely not a teenager and haven't been for a long time, so I can't always relate. I am enjoying the show, though, and the fanfic. Like SPN, it's a better (and worse) show than it gets credit for and the acting is overall really good, I think.

Ooh yes go read Dira Sudis! She's really got the characterization right, I think, and she's one of the best, if not the best, authors writing in this fandom. I'm still sorting through good fic - it's definitely harder than with Sherlock, or even Supernatural. I'm watching S3 of the show and it's fun, but I often have to remind myself it's not really made for grown ups. Still, it's really awesome how aware everyone involved with the show is of sterek and slash, and how much they use the internets, and how comfortable they are with homoeroticism - show is savvy. I think SPN broke the mold, and TeWo is running with it (to mix metaphors). (Tho there def seems to be fic bleed onto the show from what's happening to Derek's character this season, I am also a little worried about forced hetero romances - since they seemed to have given up with Dean a few years back, I think I got used to it. Alas, Derek will probably end up dating a teacher and will have very few scenes with Stiles ( ... )
