I think your musings on your work are interesting. I go through the same thing doing my work while listening to music in my shop. I think about other things though. I often think about the music, it's structure, and how it works on the emotions and thoughts. It's a mixture of technical and emotional perceptions... How is this done and can I reproduce it, and how will it pop out unexpectedly in some other work like interested study always does? Artists.
I wish I was more musical (could play music). I just didn't get any natural talent in that department at all. But I do like to listen to it. I don't understand what I am listening to though. I just get feelings from it. You are fortunate that you have a musical talent and understanding.
I hope you get your chance soon with the goldfinch. Yes, I think that would make a great picture.
Those bangle bracelets are perfection! I think the charms are so meaningful on your latest one. I like how you came up with your idea for choosing the names.
I want to save these latest bangles to use as props when I photograph new bracelets so I'm not wearing them (yet) but I'm looking forward to wearing them someday - I made them in my size.
I held the camera for long minutes waiting for a goldfinch to get in the right position (and thought of you with your great patience) but I just do not have that kind of patience. You are amazing!
I looked up gold finches and they are very pretty! I found out that they have naturalised in parts of Australia. The south east mainly. They are associated with scotch thistle in this country. We do have other finches. The one I see most often here is the red-browed finch. I love little birds!
My bizarre idea. Place bracelets in the seed in a bird feeder and take photo. Then pray no thief birds, like crows come along. Name the bracelets for the bird that shows the most interest in each one.

And I hope you get your chance to get a 'portrait' of that goldfinch soon. It must be very pretty.
