I find I like LJ for a lot of the same reasons you do. For me, it's relaxing and supportive and stimulating all in one. You and your sister are two people whose journals I particularly like to follow - there's always something going on - and I meet relatively few people in real life who are like either one of you.
Happy New Year!

Thanks! I have heard some people complain that LJ isn't like it used to be but in my case it seems just fine. :-) Like you I meet people here that I would never meet in real life - people in far away countries even! Doing things that are far out of my realms. This is what I had hoped the social internet experience could be for me when I got my first computer and finally in 2003 I found it.

*hugs* Happy New Year, M!

I'm so glad you love LJ! I agree with you and hadn't thought of it in such gentle terms before. You're right, the medium allows one to "think" without invitation or interruption.

Sometimes I think I live for LJ! It is my social network all day long when I am alone here - and even in the evening when the menfolk are here.

Happy New Year to you too!

I see a new photo tag - Taming the Basement. : )

yes, the ability to write and not be interrupted. That is one of my main reasons for staying here. I'm so thankful we found each other. How else would I have such gorgeous pendants to wear around my neck.
