Glad you got a new coat. I have always especially loved coats. I was thinking yesterday about getting one. I need a jacket that is not too heavy but has a hood.

Yeah, there is something special about a coat - you feel encased and protected. Plus it is your outermost cover and the facade you present to the world.

I guess living where it snows coats can be the very esscence of your being. I have two favs. One is a classic 1960 full length A-line wool with huge colar and buttons that was my moms. The other is a Navy issued P-coat that was a husbands.They are in great shape since we hardly wear heavy coats down here. We dress more like onions with several layers of sweaters that we peel off during the day. Our mornings start out in the 40's and by afternoon it can be in the upper 70's
