You have my sympathies. I love backgammon but also have no-one to play with. Same with chess, checkers and cribbage. I played endless games of cribbage with my Grandpa when I was a kid. Maybe he had the same problem. I don’t recall that Grandma particularly enjoyed board games.
I think the one with my Grandma was actually better. Grandpa showed no mercy, and when I was in tears (or near it) Grandma would come into the room and say “George, I think it’s time for Diane to have a coke”. Coke was a special treat, and it was Grandpa’s cue to settle down and let me win a game.
Aww, even if I were home I'd still be too far away to play with you :/ My stepmom also needs someone to play games with, but has glaucoma and can't drive (and therefore also can't see well enough to play games online.) It's a bit frustrating. Some things, I feel, used to be simpler.
