25 Did your mother work outside the home when you were a child? What was her job?Not until I got a bit older, maybe when I was 8 or 9. Till then she stayed home and was a homemaker. Yay. You got them out f the house! I know that feeling!

Chooks are pretty tough. If they weren't bunched up next to the heater, they must have been fine. Cool looking heater, by the way.

That's cool how they recognised each other, too. They really are a flocking bird. My two didn't seem to be enough today.

It's wonderful when they are little balls of fluff but they soon grow so big! And smelly, and dusty.

Have your little ones met Opal close up yet? Edit: Oh - wait - it see in your journal they did! Good for them. They are doing well.

They do grow very quickly. And get smelly and dusty as you say.

Yes, I think they have gone past the awkward teenage stage to young adults now. Though they will look better later as their feathers even out.

I got 2 Easter Eggers (not very visible in the picture - they are behind the other chickens), 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Black Astralorps.
