The question:
24 Do you have what you consider to be a good habit, but is one that likely annoys other people?I suppose that my concern about food (calories) can annoy others. I am trying to lose weight (get my food intake under control) right now and am counting every calorie using the MyFitnessPal app. It might annoy others when I talk about it. ( Read more... )

I assume it's a boy rabbit?

We had a cage like that with two rabbits. We were told they were both males but found out otherwise. She had dug her way down into the ground to give birth to babies. Who then gave birth to more babies and you know how that goes. We had 5 acres then and I don't know how many rabbits inhabited the ground beneath us. Years later we stopped in to see old neighbors who told us rabbits were still seen.

They do like to dig.

They are assuming it's a male but really they might not know. It was humping the niece and she got tired of that and didn't want the rabbit anymore. It doesn't show in the picture of the cage very well but I think Chloe told me it has a wire bottom so he can't get out the bottom, though the grass can come up through the wire.

I once had white mice a long time ago and they got out of control (started with just 2 and ended up with dozens) in the cage I had them in so I let them loose in the back yard. Every once in a while we see one down there. Were yours white rabbits?

One black one white. I forgot their names!

I wanted to prove to myself I was a "REAL" country girl so I killed the black one myself, skinned it myself and processed the meat, and had it for dinner.
I don't think any of us ate much that night. The hide of ... Eldridge (That's his name!) was in the back window of every car I owned for years and years. I finally had to throw it away because it was falling apart.
Memories.

Ha. Similar story about our first chickens. I was with my first husband and we got straight run chicks. Many males that eventually needed killed and eaten and I was doing it cause I was back to nature. Though that was the beginning of me considering I might want to become a vegetarian.

I hear he's pretty sweet - though he did like to hump the little girl and she didn't like that.

At our age we have to watch our calories to some extent. Young people don't understand that. I got sick and got very thin, so I have had the opposite problem, although all good in that department now and I am back to watching that I don't put too much on! When we get even older, we often lose weight! (Lose muscle strength.)

Putting the chicks out at night is the best thing because then they know where to go to sleep. Also, it doesn't disturb them too much. Mum was a past master at moving clucky chooks at night and I have done it, too!

Mike and Chloe are so nice to take over the care of that bunny. That will be good that he can eat the grass but not get out.
