I remember that stained glass mosaic that Deb made (plus a few others, too) Did she decide to take any of them with her? I'm glad one of the sister circle is going to have this one.

Sorry, sister dear, but you will always and only be Mary Lou to me. I have tried to think of you as just Mary, and it doesn't work for me. I know I've told you that before and you accept that as okay.

She took nothing but clothes and a few small things. Flew out on a plane and that's all she could take.

Yes, it would be weird to have you call me Mary. I'm just glad that when I got to school Mary was accepted as my name. That's all I ever told anyone my name was.

Interesting... my first name Katherine means pure, and my second name Eirlys means snowdrop, and as a child I was nicknamed Snowy. My father, who was a classic narcissist would refer to me as Pure as the driven slush... I don’t think I realised what a clever reference this was, albeit rather hurtful.

I'd heard that phrase before as a kid. I guess it was made by Tallulah Bankhead way back in 1941 first. She said it about herself to be funny.

I sympathize with the Mary Lou. My mom is Ella May and she came within a hair’s breadth of calling me Donna Lou. I’m much happier as a Diane Louise (I almost never use my middle name).

My full name is Mary Louise. Louise seemed to be very popular back then! I had a cousin same age as me - Carol Louise.

The 1943 movie Song of Bernadette was one of my brother's favorites. A good person to be named after.
