The question:
5 It’s Learn What Your Name Means Day. So, what does your name mean? Do you think it fits you?
"The usual meaning given by various sources for the name is the Hebrew "bitterness." Other meanings suggested include "sea of bitterness," "rebelliousness," or "wished for child" or "Our Lady" or "beloved lady," referring to the Christian reverence for the Virgin Mary." Yes, I can be a very bitter person, and rebellious, just for the sake of being rebellious. If you tell me to do something I will most likely resist. That's why the 12 Steps have worked for me - it's all suggested. I still resist the suggestions but that's okay - I can work my way through them the way I want. Take what you like and leave the rest. I have liked my name. Never didn't like my name. I liked that Mary was the mother of Jesus - close to god. When I was little in a Catholic home I felt special with the name. Now "Mary Lou" - I'm not crazy about that. My mother was named Mary and to differentiate between us I was called Mary Lou as a child. It makes my name silly sounding I think. Thank goodness it didn't follow me to school and only a few people in the family and people who knew me as a child still call me that. Mary Mary Quite Contrary. Maybe I hated that song so much as a child cause it was true. I am contrary.

Today! A busy day. Lunch with Nancy. I want to give her the sun/moon stained glass piece that I got from Deb. Then an appointment to get my teeth cleaned in the afternoon. I need to remember to take some motrin before I go - maybe take some CBD oil too. I find the oral hygienist very stressful. And finally tonight a new OA group is starting in Meadville and I plan to go to that.
