Got into a funk yesterday - though I don't think it showed to others (hope not) but the holiday gloom has started. Thoughts of not making good enough foods, not having my house nice enough, not giving good enough presents, just not being good enough. Though today I made a bit of headway with some ideas for presents I can make for people that they ( Read more... )

As long as you're around, you'll ALWAYS be good enough! *hugs*

Aw... thanks. That is a state of mind that is hard to get to sometimes! Hope you had a nice holiday!

We don't celebrate over here - but I sure had a good day, anyway! Watched sports with my Dad, and he made us a nice meal. <3

Then he falls into bed exhausted. I start to feel lonely. They call us "hunting widows".

Be glad he is there. I lost my husband 3 years ago, and miss him every day. Something for you to be thankful for. I would love to hear him talking to his buddies about fishing again.

That’s true. I just like to vent and use this as a place to see my emotions, so I can work through them. Very sorry for your loss.

I use Live Journal to vent, too. I get it. I just keep on rolling, I try not to dwell on the past, just remember the good, but it sneaks up sometimes.

You ARE enough. You are way more than enough! But holidays are stressful for us. I guess we're all looking forward to when all the madness has ended!

Deer hunting season would suck! It would be better of you went with Dave and you camped out (if it wasn't so cold). But it is probably a blokey thing. You have my commiserations.

Those little sparrows would make me happy! And making metal things with your music playing sounds soothing.

Yes, holidays are stressful. The expectations go way up. You’d think by now I would have been through it enough I would let go of them!

I miss him. He IS still here at night but very distracted, and exhausted. It is tiring to be out in the cold all day. Oh well, it’ll be over in a month. Though then ice fishing season will start and I will miss him when he’s gone all day doing that. Ha. I guess I’m just a complainer. ;-)

Yes, we all anticipate them way too much and the let down afterwards is hard to take. Plus, in some families, there is drama...

No, you're not a complainer. I would be too, in your situation!
