Sunny. Not too hot in here. Though it is hot outside. I haven't turned on the AC in the kitchen window yet today and I had it off all night. I have all the windows closed. The heat will start to penetrate in here soon though - as the sun hits the southwest side of the house in the afternoon.

I found a new place to study Esperanto. Lernu. It's ( Read more... )

I love eggs :D Duolingo is good. Is Lerno free?

Lerno is free and very thorough. It gets you into the meat of the language very quickly.

I don't want to learn Esperanto. I want to learn Portuguese.

I think Lernu is only for Esperanto.

Quick correction - it's Lernu rather than Lerno. 😊

Not sure what I will ever do with it laterVi povas babili kun mi! Also if you dive into the EO community you'll find that there are local meetups just about everywhere. We even have them in Turkey. Just Google 'pennsylvania esperanto meetups' or 'local esperanto groups' and dive in. And if you're willing to travel a bit, there are yearly conferences and book fairs and all kinds of opportunities to get involved ( ... )

Right! I'm just getting used to putting o's on things - and now I see there can be other endings! You can tell I'm a beginner.

Sure - you're the only person I know - I'll be glad to chat once I get better!

I agree. Learning a language is good for the brain! I chose Spanish because after  Chinese, it is the second most spoken in the world, and definitely dominates this hemisphere. My next goal is to work on the local indigenous language in Oaxaca when I retire there. I learned a bit of Mayan in Guatemala.

That sounds interesting - retiring to Oaxaca. Knowing Spanish will be good there. You must be good at languages - relatively easy to pick them up?

I'm not sure. It was hard work, but I seem to have an easier time than some.

Those naughty chooks!

Glad it's not too hot and you can have the air con off for a bit :)

Yes, I'm sure I am missing a lot of eggs. They range over a very big space.

I don't like that loud box going all the time. It's nice to have it off now.

Do you let them out after 2pm? Some chooks lay even after 2 pm.

Oh, yes. Those air conditioners can be very loud. Enjoy your peace :)

I let them out at dawn - around 6 am. If I didn't they would put up a big squawking noise. I can hear them on the baby monitor.
