Sunny. Not too hot in here. Though it is hot outside. I haven't turned on the AC in the kitchen window yet today and I had it off all night. I have all the windows closed. The heat will start to penetrate in here soon though - as the sun hits the southwest side of the house in the afternoon.

I found a new place to study Esperanto. Lernu. It's much better than Duolingo I think - though Duolingo is fun and like a game. I'm going to keep going with Duolingo too in addition to Lernu. I am enjoying it immensely. Not sure what I will ever do with it later but for now I can feel it stretching my brain. I am thinking a lot about John lately and how he was stuck in bed with not much to do and he took up learning German. He couldn't wait to get up each morning and start studying it each day. A language will fill your mind - there are so many little crevasses in there that can be connected by language/words. He wanted me to learn German with him and I tried it a little. Didn't have much interest in it at that time. And I still don't (for German) but I can see the logic and ease of Esperanto and I like that. It is like learning a code that applies to all the words evenly. I always loved playing with secret alphabet codes and making them up when I was a kid. This feels a little like that but so much bigger. Tre granda enigmo!

Just me and the animals today. Hazel is in Elwood City with her friends and Dave has gone fishing. Rossy just came over to show me where there was a nest of eggs on the ground under the spruce trees in their side yard. There were 8 chicken eggs in it. 4 from Little Comfort, 3 from Peanut Butter and 1 from Autumn. They are old, dirty and had been rained on - no good anymore. I keep track of the eggs laid each day on a special calendar and it looks like they laid those eggs more than a week ago. Eggs that I expected were missing from the hen house then.
