just a day

Nothing too exciting. Dave and I went shopping this morning. Looking over options at Home Depot for materials to make a fence for the dog (s). When we get Rainy I really want to have a fence so we can let both dogs out at the same. It is not going to work to tie them in separate places when they need to go potty. I have always wanted a fence for ( Read more... )

I should take a leaf out of you book and just potter! Although you really had a fairly big day what with going out twice.

Yeah, that is predictable that the cheap place will out compete the rivals by artificially reducing prices and then, when all the competition is gone, they can charge what they like. Plus I hate the look of generic places and like variety. I guess what has happened in your area will happen in mine sooner or later.

I'm glad that you have got Hazel to look after your pets when you are gone. It's hard to go away when you've got pets if you don't have a reliable person like that on hand.

Good to see you spent some time with David Z. That's sad about his dog, though. I wish David and his dog all the best!

We just lost 4 major department stores in the last year or so. Now we only have one place to go for certain things. Maddening.

I am very thankful to Hazel for living here and taking care of things for us.

I hope she doesn't need to be put down today but that may be for the best. She is getting pretty weak. It'll break David's heart to lose her. Thanks.

That's sad that you lost four department stores. I just heard on the radio that some Target stores will be closed here - about 20% over time - those that aren't cost effective and they're not making their rent. I mourn the loss of variety and quality in some cases.

Yes, you're very lucky to have Hazel!

Yes, that could be a sad day for you today. I hope not. David's lost enough for now.

I am so glad you are getting a fence! I can not imagine not having a fenced yard or my dogs. I went on a huge writing campaign about leaving dogs tied out, some counties it is against the law and should be everywhere. If you ever get a chance there is a website unchainyourdog.org.

Andy is only out for short periods on his cable run (which goes pretty far from the house) just to do his business - the rest of the time he is in the house with us (or going for rides in the car or walks in the woods), but 2 dogs on a cable run is not going to work for potty time. I am very happy we are finally getting a fence. I am going to enjoy the freedom.

Good website. You wonder why people even get a dog if they are just going to tie them outside all the time.

A fenced yard will be a win-win for you, Andy and your new furbaby. I know, I wonder why some people have dogs, too. I am for all rescues, I just happened to get involved with greyhounds probably because we moved to Florida. I have had other breeds over the years, but the hounds have won my heart. Sweetest dogs ever. (Not the smartest always, but so sweet it doesn't matter, lol.)

Congrats on the dog fence! I've always wanted one so the dog can't get to the road, but our property is so irregular in shape have never figured out how and husband is uncooperative.

Same here - Dave never thought we needed a fence since we have a long cable run for Andy and we don't leave him outside for very long on it anyway but a fence will much nicer. One thing Dave doesn't like about a fence is that it will be a separate place to mow. I can sympathize with him there.

Thanks! Yes, I think it will be very handy to just be able to open the door at potty time and not have to worry about tying Andy anymore.
