Funny story about the bear. Glad he didn't do any damage. I thought you took the feeders down. There seems to be a lot of bears this year. I watched a video of a mama bear and triplets crossing the Blue Ridge Parkway. The skunks must have been cute. I haven't seen or smelled any this year(we live within the city limits).

We did take the feeders down at night for a few days but left them up in the day. It is odd to have a bear visit in the middle of the day like this one was.

We seems to have some local skunks now - many nights you can smell that that are visiting.

I hope you meet Ms Purple and Ms Red Smock soon!

You have a full upright piano? Very cool. I have one back home also, but I figure the ex will sell it before I ever see it again.

I bought the piano ($150) in 1980 and played around with it till 1983 when my first husband and I divorced - then it went into the garage at my parent's house and in 2000 come to the basement of this house. It always seemed too big to be upstairs here. I have given it to Chloe and Mike for when they get their house ready so I might not have that much more time to play with it. I am no musician but I love making sounds on it. I wish I could find an electric piano that sounded as rich.

Cleaning up the space is a lovely gift. The mental image of that bear pouring the seeds into his mouth is making me giggle.

You have lots of cool - if challenging - wildlife at the moment!

What a good idea for a birthday and father's day present! I hope Chloe's into it! It would be so nice to have a summer space and also play with your piano!

Basically the basement stuff just needs shifted around and organized. I have high hopes we will be done in an hour or so. Looking forward to it.

I'm glad your bear was a graceful, seed-extracting bear and not a boorish feeder-destroying bear.

It really would have made a great picture. I don't mind the feeders (that much) - but he better not go for my chickens! I hope he stays a vegetarian around our house.
