I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. The skim of snow on the ground made for good picture taking - defined the rocks better. But it was so cold! I really want to go back in the summer and take the grandkids - I think they would love it.
Any place that has snow is cold to me! And I hate cold wind. Still, it was worth it - a beautiful place.
I love the rock steps going up and the one of Dave slipping into a crevice in the rocks. I could imagine him living or camping in a cave. Those holes in those rocks - how interesting. Like pumice, but larger holes. I like the rock that looks like stacked pancakes. And what a magnificent view!
You made a very yummy and warming meal when you got home :)
This was one of the few times I wanted to get back to the car pretty fast - so cold. At first we thought we might hike one of the trails there but then that seemed like a project for a nicer day.
The snow on the rocks did make for better photos though, I think.
Yeah. Dumb and thoughtless. Though near the parking area there was a rock with lots of names carved into it - that seemed okay to me. I should have taken a photo of it.
It's hard to find any rocks that are large and distinctive around here that haven't been touched by spray paint graffiti. As I told cmcmck there was a rock near the parking lot with carvings in it. I don't mind seeing that. But that would take more time and effort and creativity. The spray paint is fast (and ugly).
