I was puttering in the basement a lot of the day and it was getting late. Finally it was nearly 7 and I thought I am going to really regret it if I don't get out and do something today.

Spectacular - I'm glad you made the effort to get out so you could share these pictures.

That black snake looks really wiggley shaped. Was it just resting in the road or is this a picture of it moving?

I like sunsets, but I like your first picture the best because you can see the bench. I love benches.

Where is this? Is this the bike path off the bridge (10th or 8th St.) We walked on it last time I was home.

It was perfectly still the whole time but I do think it was alive cause it's head was up and I had only passed by here about 15 minutes before and it wasn't here.

This was on the way from Franklin to Belmar. Going in the opposite direction from the 8th St bridge that you and I walked that time - same bike trail though.

I think that's a rat snake. We have them where I live, too.

I see now that is the official name. Around here we usually call them black snakes. Will have to start calling them black rat snakes now.

Ha - when I started googling "black snake" the first one I found was the fireworks snake that grows when you light the top.

Those pics remind me of parts of central Scotland where other half comes from.

I wish I could visit there someday. Scotland, Ireland and England are all places my ancestors came from, and Germany.

With me, it's England, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Italy and Latvia- I'm something of a mongrel! There's Romani blood in there too- the people without a nation. :o)
