I've been quiet for a few days. Not feeling up to writing about much - though I have been doing things - just haven't felt like taking any photos or writing about it

The scenery on the way over to Reading and back sounds beautiful! I can imagine how wonderful the lightning show was to see!
I'm glad you have adjusted and adapted to no AC because I think this has been your hottest and longest summer temps I can ever remember.
The Baba Ghanoush sounds really good. I looked up the recipe on line and love all those ingredients. Did you use the tahini? Where did you get it? Do they have it in the regular grocery store?
The Appalachian mountains (in the east) are much bigger than the hills around here. It reminded me of being in the Smokey Mountains that day with mists coming out of the hills with the moist heat.
We got a jar of tahini in the regular grocery store. In the area of pickles and olives. It is relatively expensive - about $9 a jar.
Hopefully this will be the last glazing of parts and then I can move into the phase of talking to the customer and getting final approval.
Are you getting to spend a little time with Johnny now?
Good on you for weathering the summer with no air conditioning. I grew up with none and have never had any in any of my houses. The heat is relatively easy to take here because we are up in the hills and get a cool sea breeze most days.
My daughter makes baba ganoush. It is yummy. She just places a whole eggplant in the oven. It doesn't taste smoky.
And good luck with your mosaic. I hope your client likes it!
Ours didn't taste very smokey. That is why I liked the restaurant's better I think.
It can get very muggy and miserable here even though it doesn't get as hot as places south of here. A person could live without AC - we do. Farther south I don't think you could very well.
Yeah, if I lived in a more tropical environment I might need air con although I have lived in hotter and muggier places than this quite comfortably. Congratulations on making it through summer without it!
