Yesterday Jan and I took a class in kayaking at Lake Wilhelm that was put on by the park for seniors. It was fun, though I don't think I will be heading out to buy a kayak. I would rather walk on dry land and not worry about getting my things like camera and phone wet. It was a pretty picture though, the group of us in our colorful little boats

Kayacking would be fun but yes, you do have to watch getting your camera and phone wet. Thagirion damaged her phone because she had it covered by a towel and then forgot about it as she got out.

That books sounds like something I would enjoy reading. I don't think I actually would have to do it. Just doing short walks would do me.

You can get this camping bed which has a hood and a mosquito net - a modern day swag. They are very popular over here. They would be much lighter to carry than a tent etc.

I didn't go to my class reunion. I really didn't want to see people again who had not been nice to me at the time we went to school, so why satisfy their curiosity abotu me now? It might be a different story for you. I come froma very parochial little town.

I want to go and I don't want to go. I think I got along with everyone in high school, basically. It will be an opportunity for me to put on a thicker skin than usual. I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience in HS. I was a kind of wild child in those days, smoking and into drugs and very rebellious. I didn't care what anyone thought of me then. My problem now is I just don't like being around groups of people anymore.

Sounds like fun. I like going out in lakes in canoes , never really did the kayack thing. I think id fear flipping it and getting stuck in it. I like easy escapes lol. I need a good book or two to read, and that one sounds like something i would enjoy being a nature bug.

These kayaks had large openings in them - I didn't worry about getting stuck in there - though that is something I had thought about before. I think I would like a canoe better too - it would be more relaxing to me.
