WOW!!! Talk about a dramatic natural mosaic--that first picture!

And that second picture is just, I can't even think of a word, maybe celestial.

I can totally understand being a little bit unnerved in there. Ha! "a different shade of dark."

I usually feel pretty brave in the tunnels but that mist was very unnerving till we figured it out. It just seemed so strange that it was getting darker as we were getting closer to the opening. Like there was a Darkmonster waiting for us.

Oh, wow! That is deep and dark!

I find long tunnels creepy enough when I'm passing through in a train - to travel through on foot or bicycle must be amazing...

It is very quiet in there. That is pretty amazing. And the echoes too,

So many bricks in that tunnel! Yes, I would find it spooky, too. Weird how it got darker as you reached the exit. The mist explains it, but still...

Your next two photos are absolutely beautiful!

I think that when we were in the middle of the tunnel and first saw the end the mist wasn't there - then it stated to form and get thicker the closer we got to the end. Maybe the wind shifted outside and brought more air into the tunnel.

Interesting that you just last night had a dream about a tunnel! It's funny that I haven't had any dreams about them (that I can remember) but in the daytime I do think about them a lot.

Yes, that would have been an eerie experience.

I thought of my grandfather whom I never met when I saw those bricks. He supposedly died before I was born but I think he died just after I was born if my uncle's family tree is correct (it is said that he has made several mistakes in it). He built and repaired gas kilns and died of silicosis. I'm thinking it must have been the silicone from the sand in the mortar because he would have made his own. He was a very good brick layer, so I'm told. He built Nana's house and either Nana's mother's or his MIL's house and also another neighbouring one. I saw Nana's house when I was a kid. (The house mum grew up in.)

Yes, very serendipitous that I should dream of tunnels and then you post pics of one!

That must have been something to get to see your grandfather's handiwork.

Dreaming of tunnels I would think could mean that you are delving into some deep core issues right now.
