It's December, and that means you've lived through another 12 months of my online babblings. This is a meme I started doing last year, though it's been around much longer than that. It's a quick and easy post, and I'm tagging anyone who blogs once a month or more to do it too.
You go back over 2008 and take the first sentence of the first post of each month. Following
extemporanea's innovation, you run the sentences together in a single paragraph "for added surreality":
*blink* So where did 2007 go? It's hard to say. Perhaps it would be best to go back in time a bit first. Once upon a time, a girl arrived in the world. The grumpy face is because I've just written a long email that seems to have been eaten by yahoo. Late last week my body seemed to be fighting off an unspecified illness. How many sides does a triangle have? Still in Poland, still alive, and only slightly wounded. When I took my LJ offline, I promised to be back in "a few weeks". Friday was a very good night, from getting ready at ours beforehand, to the club, to the afterparty on Saturday morning. It is 5.55 am. Every now and then, something outside makes a barking, rasping sound like a rabid hyena, or possibly a hellhound with a voice made of concrete and buzzsaws and rusty tonsils.
Nonsense, of course, but at least the result isn't quite as dull as
last year's. However I did cheat slightly because I had nothing for September, so I took the first two sentences from December to get a total of 12.
An alternative version would be to take the subject lines from the first post of each month:
Looking back. Krakow - some pictures, mostly silly, and one very useful word. So, how was Antichrist? Weekend birthday things. For Iza - another one of Them. Lurgified. What is the main religion of Israel? Muslim! My holiday snaps. Hiatus interruptus. Strange days. In Der Nacht.
Ok, I've shown you both of mine, now the polite thing to do is to show me at least one of yours.
