After 3 years I finally did it

Apr 15, 2009 17:37

I quit my job today. I didn't realize that it was going to be such an emotional thing for me, but I guess it would considering I've been there for 3 years, I started in high school. In so many ways I grew up there. My supervisor was really nice about it. She was shocked, sad and understanding. She also told me that I'm welcome to come back (which ( Read more... )

Congrats! Quitting is always hard, unless you have zero attachment. I may be putting in an application there too. I need something I can work nights/weekends and make enough to actually survive. I miss my old job :(

That would be cool! It seems like working in a restaurant is the perfect job for school, but I didn't want to work somewhere like Ruby's (I had been offered a job there too - I know someone who manages the one in Redmond and said I had a job right off the bat...then I went there to check it out and there is no way in hell I would EVER where one of those pin striped dresses with the hat for $8.50/hour...I do have to wear a black cocktail dress at the keg, but that's not bad...Time to hit the gym!)

I worked at the keg by alderwood for part of the summer of 2007. I don't know if there are the same managers there, but Salty (if he's there) is pretty nice and tries to work with your needs. Mike, I'd watch out for. He's one of the reasons I left (but mainly I left because I was offered a job as a runner at Claim jumper and made alot of tips) but he hugs you and tries to kiss your forehead and makes you really uncomfortable.

But other than that it is pretty easy...just wear COMFORTABLE SHOES!!

Congrats on the new job, and I hope you're happy with the transition!

Avoid Cindy (if she still works there, which I'm not sure if she does but if she does... RUN). She's nuts.

That's funny - my attorney's name is Cindy and she's pretty wound up too! Is she a hostess?

Actually now that I think about it, I think she might be a manager somewhere else. Kirkland maybe? She used to be the lead hostess there.

Lucky you though! You get to work with two of my ex-boyfriends!

I had forgotten that James works there. I ran into him at my second interview. I'm so excited to be doing something different.
