I just trimmed my Friends List down a little. Even just a trim is agonizing, because I know some that I dropped will be hurt by my decisions. But what's the point of keeping

Still wondering when you are coming out this way.
How could I drop your journal? I'm holding out for your intercourse story, one of these years. ;)

Yeah, it'll be at least a year or two. Thanks for reminding me: before I disappear into Student-Land I will post a quick update on why I've again become disinterested in intercourse.
Really, I wouldn't have any problem at all if humans were naturally built like those few tribes . . . at puberty, they drill a hole in the base of their penis straight through to their vas deferens. For the rest of their sex life, they fuck as much as they want. If they want to impregnate their (female) lovers, they cover the hole so that the semen spurts into their lover instead of dribbling harmlessly outside. To them, sex is specifically for pleasure- you have to make an effort to force it to be procreative. Same for the Newcomers (race in Alien Nation): they actually need a third-gendered person present to enact conception.

But you know what I mean: some people take the LJ Friending extremely seriously, and hence I felt the need to make apologies & excuses. You are quite correct, that such are unnecessary, but I always feel a pang of guilt when I trim down my Friends List. LJers like postvixen and shadesong can handle hundreds of friends, why can't I deal with more than a few dozen? Answer: my Real Life is much, much busier than theirs, and I don't have a job that has a computer, internet access, and far too little to do. :)
