On Sunday, Erik and I walked 14 kilometres from Oud Ootmaarsum in the Netherlands, through Vasse and Mander, across the German border, through Getelo and into Uelsen. So - which part of California IS famous for shopping, which bit are you in and how far is the shopping away?

I would say the Los Angeles part of California is the most famous for the shopping (Rodeo Drive and all that), and I'm about eight hours from there. I guess San Francisco is probably somewhat shopping-famous, though, and I'm only an hour from there! (I live just north of the middle bit, where the bay is.)
