Vampire Diaries, 2.21, And The Sun Also Rises

So, as far as wrapping up the doppelganger storyline, I’m not that upset with the show. The episode was actually pretty good-BUT, there are issues that need to be addressed, issues that could have been easily avoided with some FORWARD PLANNING!

Never a dull moment )

All it does is create a way for Stefan to exit stage left in a frantic rush to save his douche-bag brother, who will take the time to move in on Stefan’s girlfriend (I SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING WRITERS!). IT’S GROSS AND I DON’T CARE AND THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT IT WAS THE WAY STEFAN’S FACE FELL AND HE LOOKED SO SHATTERED FOR A SECOND!

BASICALLY THIS.

I liked last night's episode (though I remain devastated) BUT I AM SO UNIMPRESSED BY WHAT NEXT WEEK LOOKS LIKE.

The episode itself wasn't bad-it was pretty good. I liked the wrap-up of the sacrifice storyline, but I can't get over certain aspects of it.

I suspect we will all remain devastated for a long while.

So , Liz is going to fuck up the finale. THAT WILL END SO WELL FOR HER!

if they kill liz, i can't even. YOU CAN NOT KILL EVERY PARENTAL FIGURE ON THIS SHOW TVD. the gilberts, and grams, and mayor lockwood, and isobel and jenna and john, and matt literally has NO ONE, and carol is in the hospital, and even mason, dead. just, FUCK THAT SHIT. sherif forbes is like literally the only parental figure left on this show, i can't even. just, don't even go there tvd. if they kill liz too, every single kid in this town should move into the salvatore's boarding house for orphans. and also alaric. except that i don't want that at all. i want matt and alaric to move in with the gilberts. except, i don't even know what i want, NOT THIS. EVERYTHING IS HORRIBLE AND HURTS.

also, i super liked your thoughts? idk, i just can't, rn. JEEEEEENNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. i am so upset.

I will need time to get over Jenna. It was just such a waste and I completely disagree with it in a way that I haven't yet disagreed with anything the show has done so far.

And I have no hope for Liz, or Katherine. It's just all bad, as far as I can see.

You know, I don't like Damon. Not anymore. I'm just so eh about him right now. XD I"m also hating how Caroline has become a side note. Even with the Tyler scene, it's kind of like 'oh yeah, and here's what Caroline's doing'.

Exactly! I was honestly surprised to see her there at the cemetery, because I was shocked they remembered to tell her what happened.

I just ... I don't understand how there can still be one more episode. On a show like this shouldn't a finale be all about "ohmygodohmygodwe'reallgonnadie!"? But they've already killed so many people. If anyone else dies it's just overkill (no pun intended). I kind of don't even care though. There was just so much pointless death last night that I've almost lost the ability to care if anyone else on this show dies, at least for the moment.

Which reminds me. JENNA! Why? You're absolutely right. That was totally pointless. Guess what, show? Being female and a vampire does not mean you automatically have to die. Stop it now before you remember Caroline because that is a line you cannot uncross.

Thank you for this post. I know I got rambly and ranty in my reply but it has been so cathartic to read everyone else's WTF posts about last night and yours is definitely one of the best.

Caroline is my line in the sand. If they kill her, I'm done.

I just can't understand what they were thinking with this move.

When you made that first post, not telling me why you were crying I actually thought they killed Caroline off (which would have been a dealbreaker for me).

I was relieved that that didn't happen and really angry they killed Jenna. Just when she found out about all the supernatural drama and might have gotten more involved in it (especially so after being turned into a vampire herself), they kill her. ARGH >

The thing is, the show is slowly but surely either killing off or marginalizing the remaining humans. It sucks because that's part of what made the books so interesting, and the first season so engaging. Humans other than Elena deserve time and attention too.

What ishi_chan said. When your post came up on my Friends page I thought Caroline was dead. The relief that she wasn't dulled the pain of Jenna a little (only a little, mind you), although I am seriously angry about the sidelining going on here. When are Kevin and Julie going to realise that we all love Caroline and we need more of her on our screens?

And the body count now....there are no words.

The body count is above and beyond what it needs to be. They're just killing people for the fun of it at this point. This isn't a murder mystery weekend-it's a television series that has the potential to go on for years. They might want to keep some of its cast (other than the three, you know).
