Last festival of the summer

I am in pain. My muscles feels bruised from hauling wires and spinning heads for eleven hours yesterday. In addition to this, I'm pissed of because I was of the few volunteers who actually did some work yesterday instead of standing around giggeling and chatting

So what are your thoughts on the new festival in Arendal next year?

After the experience on Quarten, I'm not going on that one either. I have something against Toffen now... :P

But I don't think it will be as good, it will be a Quarten light. He might be able to bring over maybe half the bands he's got contacts with, the rest will go to the best known festival not the new one, and I think both sides will lose.

Not to mention that he's not known for being good with money, and the new festival will most likely crash and burn because of it.

Yeah, I've thought a lot about it... :P

I've had the same thoughts about the money issue since he seemed to be rather unconserned with it in the past ('so we lost a few hundred thousand into a black hole, what's the big deal?'-ish). However his hinting to Metallica did make me raise an eyebrow. I guess in regatrds to next years lineup I'm not really expecting anything, just waiting to see.

Though, the articles I read had Toffen saying it'd be the week before Quart and that other guy saying it would be the same week as Quart so I'm confused?

Well, the Quart had to re-arrange because of Roskilde, so having it the week before the Quart would collide with Roskilde, having it the week after would be really, really stupid (a new festival after two of the biggest onces... problem) so I think it will be at the same time.

After all, he's got a lot of inside info on bands and his co-workers at the Quart, so he's winning on that part. But he will go bankrupt and might struggle with getting enough voulenteers b/c of how they did it at the Quart (everyone I worked with save one promised to never come back).
