I made hash browns for the first time yesterday morning. I wasn't sure exactly what I was doing, but I started with three raw potatoes and some onion and green pepper, and ended with something which, while not as crispy as I might like, were nonetheless tasty. I have similar reactions to poison ivy, et al. He really needs some steroids to help calm down the inflammation. In this case, prednisone is your friend.

I was wondering if that was what they would give him. If it's not starting to get better by tomorrow, (when I get paid), I guess I'll take him to the Urgent Care. Damn.

Mark had a hideous case of poison ivy several years back. It was awful. He finally broke down and saw a doctor. I think they couldn't do much except give him better pain relief for nights.

Yeah, I've had bad reactions to it like that too; years of archaeology field school, ugh. At one point like 80% of us were on prednisone, and I have a couple slight scars from where I got dirt in the open blisters, ugh. When it gets that bad it doesn't even itch, it just flat out hurts, like a burn. Hope he can get a round of steroids and they help. The other big help is to let the air get at it so it can dry out. Hard to do when you have to be out and about and don't want to horrify people though!

He was getting it wet too often in the beginning, I think. We've been keeping it entirely dry for over 24 hours now and I would say it is starting to look better. Still new blisters appearing, though!
