On the contrary, I think that was a perfectly good response. I firmly believe it's important to never allow children to take themselves too seriously.

I agree. The problem is that my sister categorizes many kid behaviors as "inappropriate." I'm sure my niece gets chastized with that word quite often. But I'm not about to try and enforce the same standards around here - it would totally conflict with what Jimmy's kids are used to.
