It's officially Mud Season here (though it may/will probably freeze again before we have true spring): the area around my mailbox has been trodden down by the wheels of the mail truck, forming the usual mud area that sucks at the shoes and sticks to everything like, well, mud

I can't overstate the power of New Hampshire mud.

It's the kind of mud that swallowed up Tiger tanks on WWII's Eastern Front.
