Interesting timing. I'm toying with the idea of trying it myself. (Don't really have a camera optimised for carrying everywhere, all the time, however, since it's an old 20D which we were given... But hey, should be getting an iPhone from work sometime soon, and I hear they have decent enough cameras.)
So my aunt has been very ill in hospital, and I started a photo of the day initiative to send her photos of what was going on outside as spring unfurled.
It has been an unmitigated failure at actually taking a photo each day, but on the plus side a) I have actually taken *some* photos, unheard of since A levels barring holiday snaps and b) I actually own my own camera again (the previous one had a tragic accident with a roman bath). I think treating it as a loose structure rather than a rigid commitment is the way forward.
