So I'm inclined to restart Pictures of the day.
One of the reasons I'm not so keen on this whole thing is because I tend to be awful at taking a picture a day consistently. It's actually kind of stressful trying to stick to a schedule. It's also kind of useless when I don't.
So here's the deal. If you've been following already you'll probably know most of it:
- There will not be a potd for each and every day
- My Camera dies sometimes. Despite having three cameras on which I semi-regularly take pictures; the main one, my compact (Benq C1050) dies now and then of not enough battery, especially in the cold. If this happens the chances of me taking a picture will drop significantly
- Somedays I have better things to do. Seriously, I have a life, sometimes this life is sleepy and pathetic and wants to sleep rather than look for novel photos that day. Sorry guys, even that life is more important than potd.
- Sometimes I forget. 'Nuff said.
- Potd will not be posted each and every day
- Forgetfulness, life, internet outages, they all take their toll on the regularity of potd. I'll try and post the photos I take within a week of capture and I'll aim for daily or something like that. But really, the posting daily is actually more stressful than the taking daily of photos. It's just not going to happen.
- Picture Of The Day reserves the right to be dull filler.
- My life is dull. Occasionally it is beautiful; spectacular even. But frequently it's pretty dull. My solution to this is cheap filler, usually stock photographs of stuff. You might think it's pointless, you might think it's dull, but this is my most popular photo. It's been used in so many internet publications I lose count. My dull, cheap stock photography has even made Joystiq and the Huffington Post. I think I'll keep on with this for a while.
- I'll try though. My main motivation for potd is to improve my photography and in that regard I think it's a success. My composition has improved, my technical understanding has improved and while I'm still working with a compact I bought three and a half years ago on Clearance I think my ability to use it, along with other cameras has gone from strength to strength. So yeah, I'm going to keep on trying to give you an interesting photo from time to time. There might be some filler though.
- Pictures of the day re-started on 1st June 2012
- And in keeping with the above you can expect pictures sometime this week. Sorry Guys, I've been in Leeds for a few days and away from my internet connection and post-processing set-up for a while.
