Jump wasn't really an ambitious guy, but he did like the idea of lots of easy cash. Mattake were the perfect way to achieve this goal, although finding them could be a little bit challenging. After asking on the journals it seemed like the Wilderness would be his best bet; after all, he already knew no mattake would grow in the park, and he had no idea where else to check. Besides, the place was called the "Wilderness" and mattake grew in the wild, so it seemed like an obvious starting point ( ... )

A few feet away from the foot of the fence, there grew a low-lying plant that sported huge, glossy elephant-ear shaped leaves that threw most of the jungle ground around in into heavy shadow. It was in this darkness that a lone dinosaur lay, the flat of its snout resting on the jungle floor, everything about it totally still, except for its breathing. When Jump landed with the quietest of sounds, the creature quickly looked up, its head peaking out now from above the foliage, looking for the source of the intrusion before quickly landing its attention on him. It was, compared to a lot of the other dinosaurs in the park, of an average size. Brown skinned with huge, saucer-like eyes, and a peculiar purplish-grey diamond pattern than ran the length of its body ( ... )

So, in celebration of being allowed out of the tradesman's area, Sniper was out to do a little bit of exploring, He'd heard stories about this Wilderness thing; vaguely pondered taking up adventuring as a career before deciding that working on something he was very obviously good at would be a more steady way of keeping a roof over his head. Now he just needed to put furniture in his little shack and then he'd be golden. Right now, though, it was all about exploring and seeing just what the Wilderness had to offer. Too bad he hadn't been told that you shouldn't go down there alone.

The elevator dinged and he just stared. Wait a second. Jurassic Park? Who the hell would think about doing something like that? The Jurassic was millions and millions of years ago. Why would you want a park based on that, unless there were various android dinosaurs wandering around or something? Not that he'd put it past people to develop stuff like that. He shook his head, venturing towards the gates and looking over just in time to see Jump ( ... )

Jump had only just gotten over the fence, and he was already being accosted on both sides. Of the two individuals now commanding his attention he was far less worried about the seemingly friendly human than the large, fang baring lizard-creature. In some ways it reminded him of the creatures from his dream, although those had all been at least vaguely humanoid. This creature, aside from standing on two legs, was definitely not human at all. He took a step away from it and rested his hand cautiously on the hilt of his katana. It hadn’t attacked yet, but it didn’t exactly look friendly either, and there was no way in hell he was going to die like this.

He turned his head slightly toward the newcomer- without taking his eyes off the strange creature- and asked, “Oi oi, what do you mean ‘seriously realistic’? It looks like it has a serious desire to eat something and realistically that would mean us.”

Iris had been thinking about coats. Coats and sweaters, parkas and hoodies and pullovers and trench coats and jackets and shawls. Warm things. And with those in mind, and the vague memory that someone had mentioned the wilderness was a winter wonderland, he's bundled up and flounced to the elevator to go get some winter inspiration. And to escape the space invaders that had so rudely woken him and started harassing him that morning ( ... )

Iris's talking drifted beneath the canopy, mixing with the noises of birds and insects talking, other animals calling out to one another from across great distances in the forest. Even lost amidst all of this chatter, the sound of a human voice -- singular and distinct -- still managed to reach the ears of a dinosaur that was busy rooting around with its snout at the insides of a fallen tree. Lifting its head high, it listened for a long moment, flicking the dirt from its nose with a quick, finicky movement ( ... )

Iris had been debating the merits of striking out in a random direction or just scribbling Help, help I am lost in the jungle! Rescue will be met with extreme appreciation and quite possibly hugs!! when... A dinosaur wandered into the clearing with him. He wasn't really a wilderness type, he hadn't heard the creature coming at all, which was strange considering ti was pretty much as big as Iris was, but then, distressed thoughts of I'm lost in the wilderness! had been somewhat preoccupying the tailor.

For a panicked moment Iris wasn't able to do or think anything. Dinosaur pretty much summed up his thought process. A sort of high-pitched squeak escaped the silver-haired man as the dinosaur approached--but then it Rrrrrr-ed at him and something in the noise was... Familiar. Sort of. Almost like words if he didn't concentrate too much on it ( ... )

When Iris took a step closer the dinosaur raised its head, the prominent ridge of its brow sinking considerably as it took a step backwards and regarded him with something like suspicion. It seemed slightly taken aback that Iris was actually talking to it in an attempt to have a proper conversation. Whether or not this was a good or bad thing in the end, was impossible to tell, because it seemed -- if such a thing was possible -- that the dinosaur had yet to decide what it felt on the matter ( ... )

"Shit, crap!" he muttered, stumbling again. This time into one of those bushes full of burs.

"Jesus christ why did I come here," McQueen muttered to himself pulling the burs from his hair and clothes. "There are dinosaurs, they said. Go see the dinosaurs, they said, you'll escape the fucking space invaders. I think I'll go see the dinorsaurs, I said."

The hurricane had torn up most of the paths and walkways. And not matter how many signs there were telling him to keep out, he couldn't bring himself to resist jumping the fence. Which he didn't actually have to jump since it had fallen down as soon as he tried to lift himself up on it.

"Walked for I don't know how long and still haven't seen a single fucking dinosaur. Argh!" he said pulling the last bur from his hair, "I FUCKING HATE THE WOODS!"

Several yards beyond the bush full of burs there lay a rocky outcrop, obscured mostly by a thick covering of vines, but under which a dinosaur lay, dozing. It had rained earlier that day, on and off for a few hours, and the animal had eventually sought shelter from the heavy pelting drops, only to be lulled to sleep by droning sound of rain washing over the treetops ahead. The collective downpour had been enough that there were standing puddles of water still dotting the ground and the dinosaur lay with the tip of its snout resting in one -- an inch and a half of rain, at best, which rippled every time the creature exhaled from its large nostrils ( ... )

He stopped dead in his tracks, something not too far away just whined or groaned or moaned or maybe yelled at him. He wasn't quite sure how to interpret dinosaur ( ... )

Scales had, like he said he would, gone to explode. After punching a whole bunch of pixel invaders and getting real ticked off at them in general, he'd headed down to find a place where maybe he could avoid all of those freaky things. The beams didn't hurt, but they were mildly annoying.

There was a weird sense of deja-vu, but Scales discarded that, at least for now. This crazy jungle place also gave him serious deja-vu, and for some reason faces came to mind, mostly terrified human ones. Shaking his head and glancing at the jungle at large, he rubbed his claws together and took off at a sprint. He found his body worked easily for these kinds of things, jumping over an errand piece of fence or a tree, and in some cases, grabbing and swinging into a low-hanging branch. There was something relaxing about the run and jump and swing and climb. He felt like he didn't break stride in miles, but to be honest, he had no idea exactly how far in he was.

Although most of the larger areas of the park were dedicated to large enclosures populated by thick-trunked, towering trees, there were some places where the vegetation was younger, especially where the light was thinnest. In these places, a meager handful of trees usually stood, dwarfed by their ancient ancestors, their foliage sparse and overworked as they scraped by on what little flickers and shifts of sunlight would make its way down through the canopy ( ... )

Though it had been tempting for a long time to climb up and up and up and up and see how far he could get (maybe he could get out of the glass!) for now, he stuck closer to the ground, mostly because the threat of falling to his death was enough to scare him down. But he noticed that the smaller trees were weaker, and often, jumping on them or spinning around them bent them so far that Scales occasionally worried he was going to fall on his tail ( ... )

Quickly, the dinosaur looked up and then looked down, quirking its head to one side when it realized there was a man -- who wasn't really a man -- now lying splayed out on the ground a few yards away from its feet. The creature had come across a handful of humans in its time in the park, some of which seemed strange and unusual -- wings, fangs, sometimes a prehensile tail -- but this was the first that appeared to be remotely anything like itself. It made a curious clicking sound in its throat, long fingers, heavy claws opening and closing in the air infront of it as it raised its head slightly and sniffed the wind.

Whatever it sensed clearly satisfied the dinosaur who stalked carefully forward, dropping its head close to the ground as it approached. "Rrrr?" it grumbled quietly -- an inquisitive noise -- before tapping the lizardman once on the top of his head with the tip of its snout.

Something was creepy about the whole setting. She'd been on edge moreso than usual since venturing down. Gates and fences set her off like she'd spent an elaborate amount of time around them.

And the giant lizards weren't helping matters either. Dinosaurs, she remembered, they were called. But, something was different from the faded images she faintly recalled and the lizards that gnashed at her through the gates.

There was no love lost for those that were shot or burned. Had they not looked at her like some afternoon snack, they'd still be alive and unscathed. She kept worrying that one of them would actually break through the fence...

Up until just recently, the dinosaur had been content to wander through the overgrown jungle of the park. There was something delightful about its lush, damp spaces -- its heavy shade and the sparse dappling of light and the sound of animals and movement everywhere as things brushed up against and moved past leaves and branches and vines. The other day, however, it had wandered out, using its claws to scale the ruptured fence and follow some of its larger and much more menacing brothers and sisters out into the wide spaces of the park to see what there was to see.

It was perched on a large rocky outcrop that jutted straight out of the ground at the edge of a large, rolling field. In the distance was a pack of small chicken-like dinosaurs who were roaming here and there, searching for food. The creature watched them with mild interest for a while before settling down onto its haunches and, dropping its head to the ground, decided to bask out in the open sun until something caught its interest again.

Baretta passed through one of the many safety gates, making sure it shut properly behind her before properly looking at what lay beyond. There was a short span of trees before they broke into a large plain. Rocks and trees spotted the field, but it was mostly flat.

She could see the larger dinosaurs in the distance, picking at trees. Packs of smaller ones, like the ones that kept trying to take her to dinner, were running around in the distance. From where she stood, she counted the smaller ones, counting off how many rounds she had left with her; how many she could fire before having to char them.
