Falling was an ugly sensation. Ugly in the sense of that it made his stomach flop, and had a tendency to make him kick and flail at the walls around him. They did not budge, unfortunately, but at some point during this whole attempt to not fall, the walls turned from green and red stone to amber gel, and the whole chasm he was falling down rather abruptly stopped. He sucked in a breath, expecting to hit the ground and splatter into a thousand pieces.

Sucking in a breath was not the best idea. Instead of a breath, he acquired two enormous lungfuls of some unidentified orange glop, and instead of hitting the ground and splattering, there was a dull thud. One of his flailing limbs had knocked the gel wall pathetically away, so here he was, coughing his brains out while trying to figure out why he was not splattered. It was a lot to try to figure out, in addition to the fact that he was now realizing that the person he had been falling with was gone, the person who had caught him was gone, and ( ... )

He caught the familiar sounds of hatching, accompanied by the voice from the far right. With a nod, he had a quick sip from his cup of tea to prime his throat and stood. Grabbing the towels quickly with his left hand, he proceeded to his right, peeking down the rows until he found something quite unique!

Something very non-human! Lezard mused to himself with a ghost of a grin upon his features, his glasses fiddled with a thumb and forefinger of the right and. Something about the reptillian, yet humanoid form sent off little jingles of bells in his brain as he approached, stopping to hand the creature the towels.

"Always know where your towel is," he said with a laugh. He happened to keep a copy of Hitchhiker's Guide at home in Section Four. "Nevertheless, Happy Birthday. Welcome to Edensphere. Would you like some tea..? It is ready for you."

"Wait, what?" The voice didn't really surprise him, but it took him a couple of moments to process what it was saying. Granted, he didn't feel all that quick, either. Something about the heat made him want to re-assemble his cocoon and sleep for a while, but the urge currently fought with a separate urgency that he couldn't yet place and, for the moment, wanted to kick in the face.

Either way, he sat up slowly, wiping the stuff off himself and flinging it away, trying to avoid splattering Lezard, though he imagined it might have been futile. "I can't have just been born. I'm, like ---"

How old was he? There was that urgency again, kicking in under his heat-induced lethargy. "Okay, I don't know how old I am, but I can not have just been born."

Ugh. He flicked away a globule of syrup from his coat as an eyebrow twitched once. Lezard immediately straightened up and folded his arms, eyes turning to glance off to the side. "Well, a few months ago, I was hatched and looked exactly as I do now. Age matters little in rebirth here. You were taken from your home world to be quite stuck here, wiped of one's memories save for the dream you had. ... You had one, did you not?"

Without waiting for a reply, he turned away. He hated letting tea get cold, and lizard-boy was not about to put his hard work to waste. "Come along, then, and we'll have a little talk. I can explain much of what's going on around here, so if you'd like some questions answered, do join me for tea."

...And off he strode back to the table, throwing back his cloak with an arm.
