Above was ambivalent about how people generally reacted to their first up-close-and-personal sight of her. Sometimes she was amused, sometimes she found it tiring or even a little depressing. Most of the time she just waited for them to get over it.

Key's reaction was weird enough although while her head veered up and away as he got close, she laughed. The sound that emerged from her beak was more a vaguely cawing sound, but her 'voice' was clear enough. It seemed exactly like the sound of a girl speaking, except that it bypassed ears. < Yeah, that's me. I am pretty radical, aren't I? >

She lowered her massive head somewhat, tilting it to study Key out of one big red eye.

< You're on the tall side, for a human, > she thought out loud. On all fours, as was most comfortable, Above was about twelve feet tall if her neck was straight - about half of that height was neck, actually. < I thought you were a kid, you know. But it might work. >

Above's eyes allowed for binocular vision, but they were still far enough apart that Key's hand dipped into a blind spot. She jerked her head away from his touch and up, to her full height.

As a prehistoric reptile, she didn't have the facial muscles to frown normally. It showed in the way she held her head and the curve of her tremendous neck; and in her voice, and in the sudden irritation radiating emphatically out from her.
