He'd once felt life in an enormous oak tree was bizarre and otherworldly; now, finding himself in a 'mundane' forest, the experience felt almost novel in comparison. And neither one felt all the more 'familiar' to him... or, as was more often the case, enigmatically nostalgic. Still, the fresh mountain air was as good as any to clear his head.

The solitude, however, was less so; and he was all too eager to approach a friend when he stumbled upon her meandering about the same paths as he. "Ho, there, Krile."

And a brief pause at seeing her almost unusually... at ease. "Today finds you in good spirits."

"Oh--" Krile turned quickly at the greeting, a smile appearing on her face. "Hello there! I don't see why I shouldn't have good spirits right now." Sticking her hands in her pockets, she looked up at the canopy. The way the sun shone through the nice, normal-sized leaves, the chittering of squirrels that wouldn't knock a body off her feet... well, there was just a lot to like.

...Even if the circumstances that pushed them down here were less than wonderful. "I know there's a hurricane, but... I really like this place," she went on. "Oh! What about you--what do you think of this place? Do you get along with your cabinmates?" There was a slightly irreverent cast to her smile--it was hard to picture Reed bickering with someone over whose stuff was on what side of the room.

Especially since he'd spent so much of that time outside of his own cabin. "Well enough, though I've seen little of them. There's much to do here, even of my choosing. For many this wilderness was a long time in coming..." He stared up into the canopy, a rustling of leaves blowing past his ears on the breeze. "Would that this wilderness could be so hesitant to pass."

"Ah, but don't let me stop your walk. I've no destination in mind; might I accompany you, if you'd have conversation alongside it?"

Krile found herself mildly amazed once again at how elegantly Reed managed to say things. It was just... nice to listen to him sometimes. She felt as though a few butterflies had just taken off in her stomach when he asked to walk with her--oh that was just silly. But it did seem strange. After all, every other time she'd really talked to him it was with both him and Paladin, so this was odd, and--

--silly, silly.

"Of course!" She smiled brightly. "I was just going to visit Havoc, actually. He really likes this place, a whole lot. I don't think he'll be happy to leave," she added, a little sadly as she set off again.

He seemed a bit less... distracted in comparison, though relaxed all the same. "Havoc?" Reed paused in his words, looking aside with a blink. "Can't say I've met him; did he only arrive recently? I'd only seen one newcomer born in this wilderness." He worked through the residents he knew in his mind, resisting the urge to flip through his journal to double-check... no, that would just be rude. "Quite a choice for a name..."

He idly plucked a leaf off a nearby shrub, rubbing it between his fingers... and he let the frond blow away on the next gust of wind, following it with his eyes just as he had in his dream so many months ago. "Then again, perhaps 'Reed' is no better," he chuckled quietly.
