Characters: Krile (feathered_earth) and Reed (heretic_hamlet) Date/Time: Backdated to October 19th, morning (i.e. yesterday) Location: Camp Annawanna, foresty path thinger Rating: G Summary: A walk in the woods.
Krile giggled. "Havoc is my dragon friend," she told him. "But he still likes his name, even if he didn't pick it himself." She watched as he let the leaf go, following it with her eyes as it fluttered away with the breeze. Reed was a nice name too--it was pretty, in her opinion, but she knew enough not to describe a fellow's name as that.
Still. "I like your name too." She twined her fingers together behind her back, looking up again. It really was so pretty in this forest. "What was the newborn like? I didn't realize anyone was arriving new lately... I don't remember seeing any new handwriting in the journal." Although there were still people needing to come back, she knew, thinking of Kagerou.
Oh dear. Where could he even begin describing the newborn? "Odd beyond measure," he spoke, staring off at the ground. "Not to mention immodest. Mayhap you'll see her soon enough, be it in writing on in person. She chose the name 'Christopher Walken.'"
He allowed himself a smile at the mention of his own name, but that quickly turned to confusion as he thought over her previous words.
"You befriended a dragon?... I ought not be surprised." She seemed to have a knack for charming anyone into fondness, he thought to himself. "Only that I've yet to stumble across it; one would think a dragon is difficult to miss."
Immodest in what way--? No, Krile quickly decided she wasn't going to ask for any more elaboration on that. "It's--an interesting name to pick, at least," she said, both amused and a little puzzled. "I don't think I've heard of someone picking both a first and a last name before." She made a mental note to keep an eye out for anyone calling herself Christopher Walken.
As they drew nearer to a break in the woodlands, Krile nodded--though she wondered why Reed said he shouldn't have been surprised. Perhaps because she had turned into a dragon not very long ago.
"Actually..." she said after a moment, "he used to be Snap's. Target asked me to look out for him when he vanished. But he has been a very good friend. He likes this place a lot, too."
"You may wish to ask her yourself. Though... I warn you not to expect a clear answer." He stared off into space, thinking about the bizarre way in which she talked... some talked in circles, but this 'Christopher' spoke in gordian knots.
"Oh. As you said it, then; though Target certainly chose wisely in seeking his new owner." Reed nodded thoughtfully. Conversely, he could think of a small handful he wouldn't trust with a dragon... but he was calm enough as they approached a thinning treeline. "Does he take well to company, or shall I wait here?"
"I'll remember that." There were a few people in Edensphere that Krile couldn't understand, whether they were the mystery writers or the Sphere's typical residents. Given how strange the place was, through, it was surprising that more people weren't mad.
She tried not to feel too--strange when Reed said that, but she couldn't help but grin at his question. And there was a correction she had to make. "I'm his friend," she told him. "I look out for him because he can't speak human language, of course, but I don't own him."
Coming to a halt at the edge of the trees, Krile put her fingers in her mouth and blew a sharp whistle. "Havoc doesn't mind other people--look, there he is!" She pointed up at an airborne shape rapidly growing closer. The huge dragon backed air as he landed, kicking up leaves and twigs before fixing his gaze on Reed and blowing a smoke ring around him. "Hey! That was rude," Krile admonished.
