It looked like Edensphere was getting back to its old tricks. She yelped in surprise as the sentient banana-thing apparently decided she was its next target. She tugged at its... limbs for a moment with her good hand, then just let it sit there and sing when her efforts just made it cling tighter and sing more loudly.
It disappeared eventually, leaving her with a plate of pancakes. She looked at them a bit warily, then approached the child. Perhaps his animals would appreciate these more than she would.
"Hello. My name is Fred."

Fred. Apple knew Fred. She was the one who talked a lot on the journals--often with the medic, Roswell. He nodded.
"'M Apple."
He still wasn't saying much, but it was better than the catatonic state he'd been in during and immediately after the fire.

He turned around, the fork hanging out of his mouth, and eyed the section he'd called home just a week before. Specifically, his attention fell to the empty spot that he and Zombie's crappy excuse for a house stood.
Eyepatch really only planned to take a quick-breakfast-break then get back to work for the Bossman, however, a small tuft of dark hair ended up catching his attention. "Yo, Little Dude." He hadn't actually seen him since the incident. "What're you up to?"

Then the child heard a voice he hadn't heard since before the fire. He looked up sharply, his smile growing wider even if he didn't actually say anything. Eyepatch. He was alive!
He didn't run--he had a kitten napping in his pocket and he didn't want to disturb her--but he sure as hell shuffled over to the older man and wrapped skinny arms tightly around him. He sniffed and buried his face into Eyepatch's shirt. He probably wasn't going to let go anytime soon.

He chuckled quietly, setting the fork down on his balanced plate before giving the child a small pat on the head. "Yeah... It's good to see you too."

The kitten that was in his pocket--Patchy--began to stir as she catch a whiff of the pancakes.
"Mew?"
A tiny pink nose poked its way out of the oversize grey coat someone had found for Apple. Someone was hungry.
