A new voice. Smoke stood up and stretched, taking note of the man. "Oh hi... More like a long week..."

He watched the man looking around and felt a little swell of pride. "Like what you see? I built this place from the ground up awhile back."

Smoke tied his hair back and moved so that he was directly in front of the man. "I'm Smoke - don't think we've met before." With his hands now free, he stuck out his right hand as if to shake in greeting.

"I'm tired because when I opened the place I had five other folks working for me that don't anymore..." Smoke replied quietly, looking for his own drink before turning back to Bruderlein. "Can I get you anything?"

While Smoke was busy with that, the music in the background played on. It was a bit of dance music, a bit of rock music, even some blues thrown in for good measure, but all of it was actually pleasant to listen to. It all came from the jukebox that had been procured from the Wilderness during one of its many city-style changes.

And suddenly a song came on that really was just... mediocre in so many ways. Smoke didn't mind it, of course, mainly because he was talking and working right now. However, to a past-life performer...

Grift had spent the entirety of his day poking around the Marketplace looking hopefully for a job. One that didn't mean too much manual labor, paid well, and... okay, so that crossed out most of his options, but really, was that so much to ask for ( ... )

When Smoke noticed Bruderlein, he didn't really get a "ping" for anything other than a new face. However, when his eyes moved over to this new man, he had to stop and stare for a moment...

Holy shit, this new guy looks so much like Fallen! Okay, not a LOT but maybe it's that look on his face or something...

Then the redhead coughed a bit, trying to gather his wits again. "Ah actually it's not... Ghost is probably upstairs right about now, checking on things, and Takkun might be taking a nap... Sometimes Blood helps out.

"However, it was pretty much built by me with two other guys lending a hand now & again, so I guess I would consider it a one-man establishment in that sense." He chuckled merrily at that.

Ahah, I didn't even notice that XD grinninggrifter July 23 2009, 20:40:02 UTC
Grift paused to pass a hand over his face, looking bemused. "What, do I have something on my face?" It was funny for a moment, but after that, it was a bit odd. When he had finally seen what he looked like, he was almost disappointed with how... ordinary he looked. Sure, he was a handsome devil - if he said so himself, which he did - but there was very little captivating about him ( ... )

Grumbling the entire way, Moon allowed himself to be dragged by Eyepatch down the bar, and eyed the establishment suspiciously. Several people had mentioned the place favorably, so it couldn't be all bad.

Shaking the other man off (or trying to, at least), Moon looked for a free table.

Eyepatch let go, sauntering over to the nearest table and taking a seat. He leaned back in the chair, the heels of his boots clunking against the tabletop.

"Come on, newbie. Even you can't deny that after a few days of this fucking shithole, you don't want a drink?" And with that, he reached into his pocket, pulling out his pack of cigs and lighter in one hand.

Moon's eyes locked on to the lighter and he silently withdrew his own cigarettes. "Give me a light, then."

He sat down across from Eyepatch and watched the few other people mill around. "Not that bad."

Turning his head to observe the bar, he looked at the selection of liquors before finally deciding. "Beer."

Pulling out a cigarette between his lips, he lit the end then tossed the lighter over to Moon. Eyepatch tilted his head back and exhaled the smoke into the air.

"Ah, just wait," he said with a bemused grin, returning his attention to Moon. "If it's a good night, some stupid drunk fucks will start belting karaoke."

His head turned, and since he was cheap and not all that picky. "Make that two."

Lampwick had been curious about the bar since Smoke's post asking for help, but he'd been reluctant to ever go check it out. Now as he walked in, he wasn'r sure why that had been. It seemed like a pleasant enough place...a little short-handed though.

Making a mental note to ask this Smoke guy about what help he needed again, since he knew nothing about bars, the lizard Pokemon hopped into a chair at an empty table. Being as short as he was though, it was unlikely that anyone would notice him unless they got curious about the round orance thing somewhat visible over the edge of the table...that being his head.

This place is going to start doubling as a menagerie XD; inthecenterfold July 23 2009, 14:40:23 UTC
At some point during the evening, Smoke caught sight of the small creature sitting at one of his tables. Much like had happened with Takkun the first time Smoke saw him, the redhead did a double-take - an apparently autonomous dragon-like creature with a penchant for fire by the look of his tail. It REALLY was starting to ring some bells in his head.

He ended up standing in place, just staring for a moment. It was rude, but he couldn't help it - that sometimes happened when people got fuzzy not-memories in Edensphere.

But menagerie's are fun. ^^ ambitious_fire July 23 2009, 18:47:04 UTC
Lampwick felt the eyes on him and loooked around, until he spotted Smoke looking his way with an odd expression He couldn't quite describe it, and awkwardly rubbed the back of his head...this was a different reaction than normal. "Hello?"

So funny XD inthecenterfold July 24 2009, 20:39:26 UTC
"You can... talk?" That ain't normal, fer sure... What Smoke remembered of such critters, they chirped and cooed, but they didn't... talk.

"Ah so..." Smoke looked this way & that. "Guess you don't have an owner or anything, do you?" This is so freaking weird... "Uh... you hungry or anything?"

Feeling a little bad now, the redhead jammed his hands in his pockets. Shouldn't be so surprised... Trust looked super-funny, but he was always cool... "... You got a name, little guy?"

This was one of the only places that Red hadn't explored yet, mainly because it never really appealed to his interests. The thought of alcohol made him turn away, dancing was definitely a red light, the weird smell that came from the white sticks in people's mouths was disgusting, and the guy who took his name and teased him so much was here, too. He wasn't all that eager to be here, but it seemed the right thing to do - to know where everything was in the Sphere in case he ever needed to point out directions or even go there himself someday ( ... )
