Finally accustomed to the sea and the movement of the ark, Honest was free to move about and explore. Among the things he had found when he woke up under the deck were the things he had secured from the wilderness: odds-and-ends, clothes and a striped bucket hat he was quite proud of. Dressed in a new pair of jeans and a button-up shirt, Honest found his way onto the deck.

The breeze caught him off guard and he had to bring up a hand quickly to hold his hat onto his head. "Ooh~ this is interesting." He smiled at the fresh air, basking in it as he walked at an easy pace. Squish, squish...he paused and searched for the source of the noise. He had almost overlooked the pink creature the first time. He regarded it carefully, glancing it up and down before taking a step closer, "What is that...?" Curiosity got the best of him...and the flailing gestures didn't help deter any. "Hey there~!"

Bastet noticed his movement as she struck--he'd walk right into this thing and flinch away from her when she came to save him? Oh hell, no.

The monster released him with no trouble and ran away, which wasn't what she'd expected at all. She still wasn't taking any chances though, and she grabbed his shirt and began to drag him in the opposite direction, not caring if he stumbled.

"You idiot!" she snarled. "What the hell is wrong with you? What were you thinking?" Jerking his face down to hers, she growled, "And you've got a lot of fucking nerve flinching away from me when you ran right over to that."

He felt himself hit the ground (at least from the waist up, he did) and kept his eyes closed until the remorseful sound reached his ears. Before he could turn something grabbed his shirt and he flailed resistantly. "No, I-!"

He didn't get to finish...he wanted to but he knew she was going to talk because she meant business. As he was tugged down he slowly tilted his head up to look into her eyes. Somehow it felt familiar, but the thoughts in the back of his mind were stifled by the panic of the moment. He stared, smiling weakly, "I ah...didn't know it was going to do that. I just wanted a closer look..."

Bastet really could not believe this. "Are you--are you trying to go back? Is that what you're doing, you retard?"

The eyes she remembered from her dream were right in her face now, but she was angry enough to push aside any unease they caused.

"It was big enough that you could have seen plenty from a safe distance." She tugged at him, getting them moving away from it once again. "Jackass. I swear, if you try to go back over there, I will tie your ass up and leave you for it."

She wouldn't actually...after going through the trouble to save him, she was more likely to kick his ass herself.

He blinked feeling faintly guilty. There was no real reason for her to get angry over the incident- they had only been friends for a short while. Since he was damp and smelled vaguely fishy he decided he was in no place to complain...not with the way she was reprimanding him.

He tried to get a good look over his shoulder for a final look at the animal. "I feel like I should at least say something to it," he didn't wait for a pause or a dirty look, "but there's no need to bring force into it!" he beamed wondering how his chances with the squid would have fared.

After all this, his uneasy looks were the last straw for Bastet. She stopped, letting go of him abruptly. "Fine," she said. "Do what you want."

In a blindingly fast movement that was becoming increasingly natural, she was gone.

He was surprised at her reaction- it was that easy? Her movements surprised him...but her attitude overwhelmed him.

He turned on his heel back towards the general direction of where the creature went, "Didn't mean to bug you~!" He quickly limped back towards the lower deck before it decided to show up again.
