After getting dressed, he made his way down to section three to pick up his date. There was small talk as they had walked down together, her holding onto his arm and they may have kissed in the elevator when they were alone.
Whatever had happened, they were here now, and he turned in their tickets. He had asked Kazahana, so he had, of course, bought her ticket. It was only fair, right?

"Let's wait here for a little while and see who comes," she suggested, then leaned her head on Truth's arm. "Did I say you look nice? I like your outfit. It's unique. Sort of you."

The punch bowl is LARGE and MIGHTY and sits in the center of the table, waiting for...something.

... That, and he wanted to keep an eye on Kazahana and her date. While he wasn't her husband (and was still thoroughly humiliated by the whole marriage mix-up), he was still her very protective brother. Hakuteiken wanted to watch over his precious sister to see how things would turn out with Truth while tending to auction formalities.
After all, Steel had indeed paid for him, and it would be filthy of him not to honor her wishes as well.
But all would be for the better if he could hit two birds with one stone. If he did happen to spot Kiba, however, he would make sure to keep an eye on him as well... especially if the other was also watching over Kazahana.

She cant say she was not duly impressed by the arrangements that had gone between them. At least she did not waste her money- she was right in thinking that Hakuteiken was the most respectable-looking man amongst all of them. Now, she was assured of a proper date in the ball.
Just... she wishes he would not look so serious in this occasion. He was gradually souring the mood. Her mood especially. If he had someone else in mind, she did understand. But it was highly rude of him to ignore her this way, keeping her company and yet mind wandering elsewhere. She could take a hint.
If he did not want to be with her for this event, he could very well say so.
Meanwhile, she debated whether she should be tactless and tell him outright of her thought processes.

Except for the fact that he had, in fact, dated his sister before because he thought she was his wife. So she had, more or less, taught him a few manners, or had at least shown him that he could be a little more sensitive about things.
"My apologies, Steel," he said. It was quiet and slightly choked back because, well, he didn't really apologize to anyone normally. Typically, he was hardly ever that humble. He somewhat awkwardly took a sip of his drink before continuing, "Is there anything that would better entertain you this evening?"

Smoke hadn't thought his previous work as a carpenter before Smoke's opened would ever come in handy again. Yet it made it easy to take some of the spare wood from the bar's construction to create a long L-shaped table that worked well enough as a bar, plus adding a simple shelving unit on the back-side to keep the alcohol organized.
There was a giant sign hanging on the front of Smoke's directing people to the ball, so that hopefully any patrons would show up in this area to keep him company during all of the fancy partying. It probably would also give any of his regulars a laugh, because Bubbles had kindly provided him with a black tuxedo to wear. So far, he was getting away without wearing the coat, so just the black vest and white shirt - plus, yes, pants and shoes. His hair was up in a high ponytail and he was trying his best to keep a cigarette out of his ( ... )

"How much for a whiskey?" he asked the bartender. "Got a discount for poor new guys?"

"Oh hello!" She said cheerfully as she edged her way to the bar. "Smoke dearest! I'd like a flirtini, stat! I have places to be and people to chat up!"
She turned back to Chapel. "Isn't this wonderful?" She tittered. "I think its going very well, myself!"

He assumed the position when they found a comfortable spot, one hand placing upon Dani's hip, while the other held her opposing hand aloft. Chosen smiled at her with a quiet chuckle, waited for the rhythm cue, and led the way...

But she managed not to fail horribly, and soon was keeping up with Chosen easily. "Do balls happen a lot in the Sphere?" she asked. "It seems like everyone here knows how to dance!"
Reply
"Dancing is the same as riding a bike, I think. Once you learn it, you never seem to forget it. Muscle memory is much stronger in some ways than mental memory, I think." He spoke quietly.
"The way one holds a pen, or the way you walk... no amount of amnesia can erase that."

"What's de fuck is dis stage crap? I asks specs-sifly for platsfrom carrieds by dragons!! YOU'S ALL FIRED!"
He didn't appear as though he'd stop anytime soon.

Glancing up at Alexi she smiled proudly. "I wanna ride a dragon and be at eleven too! We're gonna be awesome!"
She had no idea what turning things up to eleven meant, but it sure sounded cool!
"So's when're we getting started Blondie? Where's Mustachio?"

"I don'ts know where he is, but he better gets here soon, 'cuz we ams going on soon." His head jerked to the side, chin touching his shoulder, and he scowled at the nearest tech crew. "Assuming dese stupids people can gets something right!"
