He assumed the position when they found a comfortable spot, one hand placing upon Dani's hip, while the other held her opposing hand aloft. Chosen smiled at her with a quiet chuckle, waited for the rhythm cue, and led the way...

But she managed not to fail horribly, and soon was keeping up with Chosen easily. "Do balls happen a lot in the Sphere?" she asked. "It seems like everyone here knows how to dance!"
Reply
"Dancing is the same as riding a bike, I think. Once you learn it, you never seem to forget it. Muscle memory is much stronger in some ways than mental memory, I think." He spoke quietly.
"The way one holds a pen, or the way you walk... no amount of amnesia can erase that."

"You want to try leading when the music changes? It's pretty fun. I'll give you the rundown."

"She's easy to distract, though. She's got a date too, I hear, so he should keep her busy. All right... music's starting to change. Your call!"

The song started, and Dani stepped back. She started to sway and clap; this felt natural, and soon she was actually dancing, not the slow stuff Chosen had been leading her in. "Come on!"

Chosen blinked at her, looking positively perplexed, but soon found himself joining right in. Pff, he could learn new moves!
"Okay, I give. Your leading is a hell of a lot more fun!" He laughed.

Some of the other dancers were in Chosen's position, and quickly started following Dani's lead in the dance. She smiled. This was fun!
The song ended way too soon, though, and went back to the slower, ballroom dancing-type songs. Dani, a little out of breath, looked at Chosen. "Okay, your turn."

He dipped into a slight bow, then. Time to slather on a little more charm~ "And thank you for teaching me how to truly dance, cutiepie. ♥"

Remembering all the steps from her instructions with Companion, Medium allowed herself to focus, somehow still managing to give her date a smile. "Okay. As long as we do exactly as Companion told us, we'll be just fine!" She giggled, and added, "My toes are here, see?" She poked one out from under her dress and jiggled it for him to see.

"Are you sure that we're the ones that should be showing people-" he started to say, but it was too late; Medium already dragged him out to the middle of the dance floor. Once there, he stood awkwardly as she pointed out where her toes were. It was sad that she had to do that in the first place. The teen forced a smile and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. It'd be ok. So what if everyone's staring at them and he didn't actually have a clue what he was doing? He took lessons though, right? Shouldn't he be fine?
Prongs offered his hand to his date and put his hand on her hip, just like Companion had instructed him to. They could do this. Which foot do they step off with first?

Medium slipped her hand into his. "Okay. Let's start with the right! Ready..." She trailed off to count to herself and then, to prompt him she whispered,"One!"
And so she took a step.

The two of them continued to do the simple step, and though Prongs' feet were awkward he made a concious effort not to step on Medium's toes. This resulted in him looking down very often, barely making eye contact with Medium. He was holding onto Medium's hand tighter than he had to, but it was hard to concentrate on that when his heart was hammering away. So far, so good, though!
After another silent moment, Prongs grinned and glanced up at Medium's face. "This actually isn't that bad," he said but then immediately glanced down at his feet as he placed one of them awkwardly on the floor. Still, didn't step on Medium's toes yet!
