The last image lingered there for a bit, and Tatsu let out a long breath that he hadn't known he'd been holding. "No... no..." He swayed, and managed to keep himself upright through sheer force of will. His voice was hoarse, which sounded very strange, considering how high-pitched it was at the moment. "That's... me. It's the same... he was in my dream."

It was strange, but if the man in his dream was to be believed... then this man and he were one. He spoke like him, too, the same style of speech, and the same voice. They were even dressed the same. And he had felt every emotion that the man had expressed - or for the most part, not expressed. Amusement, amazement, confusion, even a slight tinge of fear. And near the end? Sadness, though it was ever so distant. So he knew. There was something about him that he knew, as confusing as it was. "That man. They were hunting him - me. I think they were hunting... me me, too. The woman... she wanted to protect him... me. The Carronade... I don't know what it is, exactly. But... I know it's ( ... )

It had always been easy for Mirage to put up appearances, but even he could be taken aback by the sudden change of surroundings. He watched, eyes wide, as the scene unfolded before him. He hadn't encountered such a place in the sphere before. An illusion, perhaps? He experimented by stepping before the running woman, and when she passed through him completely, without as much as a stumble, he concluded that his theory was highly probable.

Given the circumstances, observing was the most favorable option. He watched as the female human barricaded the doors and helped the man escape, the man who was different, according to the female. The question of how different this white-haired male was followed instantly, but the scene gave out no explanation. He frowned. A nuisance.

But the image (feed? projection? illusion?) before him merely concluded what he had always believed. He watched with the slightest amusement as the commotion played out before him. Humans are a conflict among themselves, and they will always be.

When the elevator doors opened, Renae barely had time to ask or question before Tatsu stepped forward. Not interested in letting him go foward alone, she followed--and was subsequently engulfed in the surrounding scene. Unlike Mirage, she didn't experiment, engrossed in the unfolding story. The white-haired man and the woman aiding him gained her sympathy quickly--and the last words spoken filled her with dread ( ... )

Bridge, too, stared at the unfolding memory, wide-eyed, unable to tear his gaze away. Someone was being hidden away so that they wouldn't be hunted... but he had been found anyway. And the woman- attempting to give him a normal, happy life, so determined to do so that she was sacrificing herself so that he would have a chance to escape.

Who were these people? Why was the man being hidden? It seemed to cruel to him, especially the way the soldiers so carelessly treated everyone. He had no idea what Carronade meant, but given the context, it was possible it was something terrible.

When the projection faded, he saw his fellow elevator victims all standing around; he first instinct, upon seeing Tatsu and the emotional state he was in, was to move closer, help Renae give him some sort of comfort. Bridge found that he didn't know what to say, indeed wasn't sure he COULD say anything that could provide any consolation, so he put a comforting hand on his shoulder.

"He's me. I know he's me. The face I don't see in the mirror... it's him."

He took a deep breath, and looked at Renae. "I think I was hunted because I'm... different. I'm not human, and my best guess is that someone... wanted to control me. And... I think that was supposed to be my name. And hers."

"It's got to be my memory. I felt everything. Everything that he felt. I don't know how he's me. But he told me in my dream that we were one, so if that's true... then he's me."

He leaned into Bridge's hand a little, scared both for 'himself' and the woman. If it was that dangerous, had he died in order to come here? Had he ever been caught? He didn't know.
