Saturday Night, near the elevator on the second floor lemonshine March 1 2009, 02:02:59 UTC
Lucy needed something from the Market and prayed that she reached her destination in time. She was bouncing in the elevator, her journal jostling in the knapsack she was wearing. Just a small item, that was all the girl needed as the elevator dinged, doors wooshing open to greet her green eyes with the City Without Walls. Her boots clapped against the ground as she began crossing the bridge.

Just a tiny, insignificant item.

Tian had made his way to the second floor, and was searching for anyone foolish enough to cross his path. He saw Lucy crossing a bridge and flew down, an inhuman screech issuing from his mouth. She was one of those that the copy cared for. He had to remove this attachment.

He started charging an attack, one that he knew would not miss.

The screech alerted her first, hands flying up to cover her face as gale force winds buffeted her from both sides. She'd left her nunchaku at home but without it, Lucy was a sitting duck on the bridge. Seraph had it right in regards to her. She went everywhere unprepared for any situation and when she got into trouble she was always leaning upon others. As the bottom of her dress billowed about her knees, the brunette knew that she was in a heap of danger ( ... )

The bag smacked his leg and he laughed, a deep and breathy sound, since he currently lacked the vocal cords really needed for such a sound. Still, he wasn't deterred from his attack, and let it loose, watching as the dark wave reached out towards her.

Saturday Afternoon, Scavenger's Yard artistic_spaz March 1 2009, 02:38:02 UTC
Renae was humming to herself as she scanned the area, sling out and ready. She was enjoying herself, chasing those flying bottles she had first spotted earlier in the day. Ever since she realized they contained some interesting prizes, Renae had been on a self-appointed mission to find as many of them as she could. She had spent most of the day on the second floor, searching for them in the City Without Walls. However, not too long ago she had decided upon a change in scenery. If she didn't find more of those flying bottles, at least she might discover something interesting within the junk piles.

She wandered further away from the elevator, alert to her targets but otherwise distracted.

The Scavenger's Yard might hold some fools who were fleeing, or otherwise unaware. They would not be spared. He shifted back into human form to fit on the elevator, but once he stepped off it he transformed again.

He rose above the trash piles, screeching, looking for targets.

There!

Renae readied her sling and aimed for the bottle that just soared past one of the piles. A satisfying crash resulted, but just as she was heading over to collect the loot, that screech caused her to jump.

"What the heck?"

Trash golems never made that sound, and she had heard of no other monsters within the area. Worriedly, Renae glanced upward.

Tian charged up an attack, this time a minor earth spell that would set the ground to shaking. 'Twas time to test this human's worth. Perhaps she was worthy... but most likely not.

Humankind had to be cleansed.

Saturday Night (after Lucy?) near the bridge leading to the post office stonyfaced March 1 2009, 03:05:55 UTC
This was not a good day. First of all, he woke up to see a face that was not his own in the mirror, all big eyes and scrawny shoulders, adam's apple bobbing as he stared at his own reflection. That face was not his. That body was not his. Those feet were not his. Were they ever so large? It had been with great reluctance that he admitted that his features were... familiar enough to be his own. Albeit younger. Much younger. And he had a coughing fit after trying to smoke one of his cigars too, which only worsened his mood.

Then he opened up his journal and found out that all hell had broken loose. He hadn't been in this godforsaken place for long, but Godsdamn it, it was his city now, and his duty as a Guard to do some guarding. Make sure that people didn't get hurt, at the least. With that thought in mind, he ran into the whole of the city, carrying his sword - which somehow felt heavier than it once did - with him. Something about Fallen's golden suit reminded him of the Post Office he had seen labelled on his map, ( ... )

Someone he didn't recognize. Never mind, he would fall just like the others. The Post Office only had one exit, so as soon as Stoneface was about halfway across the bridge he descended on the end nearer to the marketplace. Not landing directly on it - of course not, it would never support his weight - but hovering above it. He screeched, and charged up an attack.

The first thing Stoneface noticed was the shadow. That didn't scare him too much; he stared into shadows. They were familiar. Welcome, even. But this time, it was night, and one shadow was just a shade darker than the rest, and it was right above him. Still, it didn't scare him.

The screech did.

Dread curled into his stomach as he ran, head tilting back to see who - what? - his pursuer was all the while. It was... it wasn't any dragon he had ever seen before, but it was, unmistakably, a dragon. His legs propelled him forward as he whispered panicked prayers to the bridge: don't break don't break don't break don't break Before leaping off of it, he entertained the idea of whether burning to death or falling to death would be more painful. Once off the bridge, he span around, feet stumbling backwards without waiting for its body to keep up. Stoneface silently cursed. He could get around easily enough while he was normal, but he thought with his muscles, and these ones were dreadfully out of practice. He drew his ( ... )

When Stoneface drew his blade, the dragon tilted its head, looking almost amused at the thought of being attacked. And then he started to run again.

Perfect.

He made a small circle with a forelimb and flicked it towards the small man. A sudden gale sprang up and buffeted him, going as fast as to be razor-sharp.

Access Point, Saturday Midnight healing_death March 1 2009, 05:52:17 UTC
If it was possible to personify human anger, Honor was bordering on it. Her sword was already out when she stepped out of the elevator, eyes scanning the area for anything destructive or hateful.

Where was Tatsu? She was certain he would keep his word and allow her to come, no matter how stubbornly he didn't want her to come. Didn't he understand how she felt? She could never allow a friend to face something like it on his own, much less when he seemed scared by the Other.

She brushed a lock of red hair from her eyes. It would require cutting again soon. It was getting to the base of her neck. Her violet eyes still held that fire. Perhaps it was new confidence, seeing herself take on a fully-fledged knight. Perhaps it was a combination of reckless fury and protectiveness that forced her to ignore the possibility of death for a brief moment.

As luck had had it, the elevator had arrived at the Access Point just as Cara and Tatsu got there, so it didn't take long for it to come back up. Cara had her spear, of course... carrying it around with her had become a habit, and not one she was likely to shed anytime soon.

She glanced at Tatsu, forcing herself to ignore the unease that was building in her. This had to be rough on him... another version of himself, saying such horrible things... she wondered what would happen when they met him in person. I hope he hasn't hurt anyone. Not likely, but she could hope that nobody was injured too badly. Cara did her best to keep the worry from her face--she had to be strong for Tatsu.

The elevator slid open, revealing Honor already there waiting. "We're here," Cara said, stepping out.

Tatsu felt like a dead man walking. How could the other him say things like that? Why did he feel the need to try to "cleanse" humanity? The most frightening thing was that there was a part of him that agreed with Tian, that said he was right. But humankind wasn't hopeless! He knew this.

He gripped his sword tightly, and exited the elevator with Cara. He nodded to Honor, his face grim. Looking up, he scanned the horizon for Tian. It wasn't hard to find him.

Off in the distance, a great shape loomed, but as soon as he had stepped off the elevator it began to race toward them. Tatsu gulped and tried to calm his mind. "It's time." He growled, low, and walked forward, putting his hands together and meditating. There was a faint glow, and then he was lifted off the ground, a red column of light surrounding him. He let out a cry, and there was a flash of light, before he transformed.

She nodded solemnly. Honor wasn't about to protest the meditating as a means of calming his mind, but she hadn't been expecting the light, or the transformation. She adjusted her shield and looked at Cara with a quick nod.

It was at this point that Honor realized she didn't want to die. She had things she needed to do, and not in the whorkaholic way. She swallowed hard, though, and shoved her fear away. Now wasn't the time. If Tatsu thought it was dangerous enough she could be hurt, Honor trusted that opinion.

She also decided she should start carrying a bow as part of her usual arsenal if she was going to be fighting things on a more common basis. She gripped Lightening hard, trying to remember the tactics she'd seen herself using. The fire in herself quivered slightly. Honor wondered if she could even pull it out in a fight in time to make it useful.

"Ready." Her foot slid back, balancing herself.
