What did Honor want her to do? Go back and hide? That wasn't going to happen. Now there were two less harpies and they were more or less unscathed. The claw to her shoulder had hurt, yeah, but it couldn't have been the worst injury she'd ever had.

She raised her eyebrows at Honor's magic--what kind was it? As far as she knew, it wasn't supposed to be purple. That was odd, and interesting. The pain in her shoulder eased up quickly as it healed. "Thanks," she said. Come to think of it--yeah, it was lucky that Honor knew that. Cara had no idea if she knew any healing spells or not.

"Um... your shirt got kinda torn," she said, a little awkwardly, wondering why in the world Honor was pretending to be a boy.

Honor looked down. A blush which had been beginning spread to her ears and beyond. The guard looked vaguely similar to a cherry with purple eyes. She squeaked, covering her breasts with the light wooden shield. "I'm- I'm so sorry." She stowed her weapon. "I'm... a..." She fumbled with the words. "A girl, yeah."

Her face was downcast, ashamed. "I'm... sorry to have deceived you, Cara." She began to walk away, clutching her shirt to her chest. "Feel free to stop working with me. I'll understand."

Cara might have found Honor's reaction funny if it hadn't been for how obviously disheartened he was--after all, she was a girl too! Instead of laughing though, she quickly followed him--well, her--and put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey... come on, I'm not going to do anything like that," she said. "I don't know why you're dressed as a boy, but you must have a good reason."

Dressed as a man. Honor was good at it too; she'd really managed to look the part... why was that so familiar?

"Really?" Clearly, the girl was expecting Cara to drop her friendship right then, if the other girl even considered them friends or not. Honor shook her head. "I... don't remember why." She mumbled, still cherry-red and blushing. She held her shield close to her chest as well. "I think... I wanted to do great deeds."

The blush deepened as she revealed what little she knew. "I... think... I think I pretended to be my brother." She kept her voice low, momentarily relieved from the harpy-attacks. Her face was ashamed. "But I broke your trust..."

It kept happening... over and over. She tried to just go on, letting people assume she was male, keeping being exposed... when would it stop?

What did being a girl have to do with not being able to do great deeds? Cara had to wonder. But... it was probably different where Honor came from. "You didn't break anything," she said with a smile. "I'm still your friend."

The feeling of familiarity wouldn't go away. Honor didn't look familiar, not like any of the people in Cara's dream, but the situation just seemed to strike a chord somewhere in her. "If they wouldn't let girls do things where you were from, I don't blame you for disguising yourself. But it doesn't bother me either way."
