Bastet's faint smile, while seemingly more welcoming, revealed no more than Drake's poker face.

"No, I can't say I blame you for being curious," she said, her voice mild as she turned to the other boy. "I'm Bastet; I didn't catch your name."

While she didn't blame him or any other visitors for being curious, she still had no reason to trust them.

Ah, the beauty (or not) of being met by two of the cagiest people in the Sphere. Drake was the king of no-expression, Bastet looked sweet until she kicked you in the balls or somewhere equally painful. At least it wasn't someone like Seraph who would have been a real supercilious ass, or Trust who might pick a fight first and ask questions later. Light might've gotten off easy on this one.

"Curiosity killed the cat," he pointed out, very mildly indeed. Blandly, almost. He looked like he was more using the sword as a convenient place to rest his right hand than anything else, though that could of course be deceptive. "You know, at least this landed in the park. Trying to deal with this out on Crystala would have been a pain." Amusing, but a pain.

This? Is that how they were referring to him? No, they were speaking of the tree, or perhaps Rivelata itself. While they were engaged in light conversation, he felt for where he kept the journal inside his jacket and scrawled two words in it. Hopefully, one of Misa's brain cells would be working and she'd be able to figure out what he meant.

"I'm sorry," he cut in innocently. "What's Crystala? Is that the city in this place?"

Bastet snickered as Drake spoke, her eyes flicking to the bridge for a second. "Yeah, well," she drawled, raising an eyebrow at him. "Satisfaction brought it back." She made no mention of the other boy reaching inside his jacket, although she did tense just a bit to see if he was going for a weapon. When his hands came out empty, she went back to her earlier calm watchfulness.

"What," she asked Drake, her eyes wide in mock innocence. "You mean you wouldn't have wanted to dodge monsters while meeting our visitors?" Crystala had its uses, but it wasn't anywhere she wanted to spend a lot of time.

"Crystala is an island," she replied, easily enough. "The park we're in is on an island as well. And I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it, but this conversation will be much less tense if you keep your hands visible."

Neku slowly clambered down the tree, not waiting for Haruhi to lead the way, since that Light guy had obviously forged ahead as well.

And as he made his way into the new world, he saw a dark-skinned young woman and a kid about his age with a sword badgering Light. He rolled his eyes, and continued to climb down. When his feet finally touched the ground, however, Neku could tell right away that something was off.

For one, every power he'd had (or was supposed to have) was suddenly switched back on - the sensation was staggering, and it took every ounce of control not to explode or transform or anything.

For two, he was getting a weird vibe from the tree. Not one he could put his finger on, but...

He folded his arms, and waited for Joshua.
