nov 20th - late night - the street outside a club. lizardoverdose November 21 2008, 00:48:23 UTC
Not surprisingly, Scales was counting his remaining money at about 2AM outside of a club. It was dark, but it hardly bothered him - he found that to be honest, sleep wasn't nearly as necessary as he'd first thought it was, and he could go a day or two without rest. This worked great when one wanted to work out steam or examine all of Vegas without resting, but was not excellent when Scales was trying to concern money. He'd gotten some from Truth and Kanin, which was good, though he'd burned through quite a bit of it already and was at moment trying to see what he had left before it was back to bumming money again.

Right now, though, he was using his tail to hold a shiskabob he was munching on and folding money and putting in his pocket. With all of that resolved, he decided that the best place to go was maybe find a spa and sit in a hot tub for a while.

However, he would never, ever tell anyone that part.

There was kind of a thrill to wandering around Vegas at a time of night where, if this were the real world, they would probably have been mugged, murdered, and buried in the desert by now. Luckily, though some of the mannequins actually seemed capable of doing their jobs, there weren't any mannequin muggers around, and they'd actually managed to cover a lot of ground in the hopes of actually seeing a bit of the city before it disappeared again ( ... )

Throne turned his head, his nose bumping against forehead as Want peered over his shoulder cautiously. He rolled his eyes and reached over to flick Want once between his raised brows. "You girl," he muttered with an exasperated fondness that Throne was realizing -- more and more -- was a default when talking to Want. "Way to take one for the team. All of your fallen commandeers are currently turning over in their paint-smeared graves and facepalming at you, collectively."

Throne shrugged his shoulder up and away from Want, but not far enough to actually move from him. He ticked his head to one side to crack his neck and then raised his paintgun slowly. "Lemme show you how it's done," he said and smirked as he lined up the shot. Knowing Scales, this was going to get messy, but that was kind of the point. And Throne couldn't think of a more appropriate reunion than a Mexican stand-off with big green himself -- kabobs and chocolate bars flying left and right ( ... )

Scales immediately perked up at the sound of his name being called - his nickname, even, and one he hadn't heard in a while, which made it even better - and looked over. However, this had the unfortunate consequence of spattering paintballs all over his side, giving it the strange appearance that someone had stabbed him in the shoulder and then dragged the knife down. He'd never been more grateful for his scales than now, as they eliminated the pain factor paintball almost entirely, maybe with a dull strike of pain from the contact and nothing else. Stunned for a moment by the sheer AUDACITY of what had just happened, he unslung the gun from a crude holster on his back and made sure it was in working order before slowing meandering over to the pillar where the voices came from - first a surprised shout, and then a certain blonde haired teen who was so going ot get it."You motherfucker, you scared the shit out of me!" He shouted, taking the last piece of meat off the shiskabob and tossing the stick to the side. "Disappearing like that ( ... )

Lucy wasn't really in the mood to play paintball but she'd brought the damn gun with her just in case. There was no telling who'd try to ambush her but she'd just shoot back if that happened. Last night hadn't been a good night after she'd shut her journal and left it in the bathroom until earlier this morning. She felt a bit better after some sleep but she quickly grew bored so maybe some wandering about in Vegas would help to cheer her up. The bruises on her leg and arm still stung a bit but they weren't going to deter her from doing something other than sitting up in her room in Caesar's Palace moping all day ( ... )

he's going to be really sorry when he realizes who it is. child_proteus November 21 2008, 15:16:31 UTC
From this distance it was hard to tell exactly who the petite brunette in the blue paintball uniform was. If the whole event taught Throne something, it was that taking people he knew and sticking them into generic, shapeless, plated armor did a murder on his ability to recognize them. It also didn't help that physically holding the paintball gun in his hand made him almost knee-jerk shoot at any yellow or blue smudge on his vision. Which, he was realizing, proved difficult in an environment where pretty much everything was painted or lit with bright, dazzling colors. Just tonight, he'd managed to beam two garbage cans, a taxi, a fire hydrant and a pair of mannequin vallets in sharp blue waiter-like suits -- all by accident ( ... )

Want took a half-step to the side and only narrowly avoided being hit by a stray paintball. He backpedalled quickly until he was behind the cover of pillar and then poked his head out long enough to shout, "Hey! Watch out! Blue team over here!" before ducking back into safety ( ... )

Somehow, it felt like EVERYTHING had happened all at once in November. He'd met himself, his brother, his mother, admitted feelings for Lucy, somehow befriended Drake, become Praise's servant, fought a horde of zombies while trying to carry 4 cats, and Throne and Want had returned. Not necessarily in that order ( ... )

There was a moment -- however brief -- during which Throne did not turn around. There was something way too surreal about standing there, in front of a fountain of all places, and once again running into Fullmetal -- or somebody that he'd be convinced was Fullmetal, at least. The last time he'd done what came naturally, which was run up and bearhug him until the reality of the situation became unavoidable. And as much as Throne truly wanted it to be Fullmetal that was calling both of their names, the possibility of disappointment and confusion loomed large for a moment.

But as quickly as it came, that moment passed, and Throne turned towards that familiar voice. This time, he knew, there was no denying it, it was Fullmetal. Because not only was the voice a match, as well as the hair and the face and the posture, the expression on his face was familiar as well. It was the look of recognition and relief, and when Throne noticed that there were tears standing in Fullmetal's eyes, he broke into a tiny run to reach him all the ( ... )

Want gave a soft snort as Throne took off in a run and trailed after more slowly. Honestly, he was glad these two were getting a chance to reunite so soon -- and not only because Fullmetal had seemed so upset over the journals. And Want knew from first hand experience that the strength of the... bond, or whatever you wanted to call it, between the two ran both ways. So he lagged back to give them space to say hello properly.

He was maybe actually smiling as he watched but as soon as Throne turned toward him, he managed to arrange his features into something more reluctantly indulgent. "Yes, T. Real Fullmetal." He rolled his eyes a little. "Who, I'm going to guess, needs to breathe just as much as Not Real Fullmetal."

When he turned his attention over to Fullmetal, he let his smile return, though, and lifted his hand up in a single arc of a wave. "Hey, Fm," he said. "You okay?"

He'd needed new clothes after his others got covered in paint, and Justice only had so many outfits with him. So...he'd decided to run out shopping. Justice had been dragged out of the room and out into the sunlight but had spent the entire trip looking thoroughly unamused, save for when Phoenix had been persuaded into a blue suit. The jacket matched the one from his memory, and as a bonus- it was half off. It was currently folded in the bag he was carrying in his left hand, a pair of black slacks and various other staples along with it. It was nice to not rely on the clothing stall- this was just much easier ( ... )

WHO CARES ABOUT FOOD, TUSSAH. FINISH THE STUPID TAG. ;; child_proteus November 22 2008, 00:33:39 UTC
It was hard to tell for sure, given the fact that he didn't have a watch, but Throne was pretty certain -- looking back at their day so far -- that he and Want had just eaten a few hours ago. Admittedly, there was a kind of lunch-ish feeling to the time of day, but given the fact that they'd abandoned getting out of bed before the sun was high overhead, it was hard to tell just how relative that feeling was. Still, that argument hadn't really been effective on Want, who had shooed Throne off in the direction of the food court to snag food just minutes earlier ( ... )

BUT THE TAG IS DELICIOUS? misterbluesky November 22 2008, 03:50:11 UTC
He was reading over one of Justice's old journal entries, flipping from page to page. There were bits of paper slipped in at places, small notes jotted down that he didn't want to go on the entries themselves- names, times, half-thoughts...

There was movement on the periphery of his vision. Maybe it was another mannequin. Those had taken a bit of getting used to, but after nearly a week they had just become part of the city ( ... )

Throne made a tiny whining noise in his throat the minute he caught sight of the dark, oozy stain that began at the top of the guy's shoulder and continued downwards along the back of his shirt in a long, heavy stroke. Juggling the food around between his two hands, he then crinkled his nose and his brow very deeply at the mention of the name "Justice". There wasn't much Throne knew about Justice, beyond the name; he did know that, as far as he was concerned, Justice spoke like an encyclopedia -- but not in a fun way -- and that Throne hadn't made the most favorable impression on him the first time they'd back-and-forthed over the journals. "Ah, great," Throne muttered to himself irritably and, shoving one corn dog in his mouth, tried to use some of his newly-freed fingers to try to help the guy as he wiped at it.

This, however, proved to be an even more spectacular disaster than the first stain, as Throne proceeded to hurriedly drip yet another one down right beside it.

"Ack," he choked, and accidentally bit all the way through ( ... )

Friday, November 21st, 3:30pm, The Forum Shops unwinding_key November 21 2008, 05:53:33 UTC
Clé had been indoors most of the day, not very interested in getting slightly beat up by the paintball players.

Besides which, the casinos themselves were fascinating, with all the places inside of places. There was a great deal to explore and do, although sometimes the people-type mannequins made things more annoying than they had to be.

Around Tuesday she had caught on to the idea that most people were simply taking things, instead of purchasing them, since apparently the mannequins were unable to seriously do anything about it. Which, on one hand, seemed like a bit of underhanded dealings but on the other hand one never knew how long one's money might last.

With that in mind, Clé raided various locations in the Forum Shops, both for items she needed and for ideas for things to sell in Kitty's stall. Half after 3pm found her doing just that, poking around one of the shops and occasionally dropping things into a large basket.

"So that's..." Want was saying, wiping his fingers on his jeans as he finished off the last bite of lunch. He then used the same fingers to count silently and held up the four resulting fingers in front of Throne's face. "Four? Only four? This place is supposed to have thirteen restaurants or something, man. We are going to have to speed up if we're going to cover them all before the Wilderness's next temper tantrum ( ... )

"Oh my god," Throne said with an exaggerated sigh, throwing his head back and smacking the flat of palm against his forehead. His other hand quickly hooked itself along the inside of Want's elbow and him tugged once, sharply the opposite direction of the fancy boutique ice cream shop that Want was gazing towards with very large, glittering eyes. "You just ate, you tiny gastronomic black hole." Throne tugged again. "Besides, I think the last thing we both need right now is you getting all pornographic over fru-fru ice cream, man. Anyways," and Throne poked at the pocket which he knew their list was shoved into, "we have business to attend to. And we've covered food, like twice already, you dork."

Throne looked at Want evenly, only to be met with those same huge, wet eyes. Pursing his lips, he made a determined noise in his throat only to relent a moment later, loosening his grip on Want's arm enough to be tugged back to the shop's facade. "You so owe me one, dude. Though, for the record? You spend the rest of the night ( ... )

Clé had bent down to fit her bootlace, all 5 foot 4 of her disappearing for a moment, but when she stood back up she found herself face to face with a dark-haired boy, close to her own age, staring at one of the items in the window. She hadn't met him before, that much was certain, but only having been in Edensphere for two weeks meant she hadn't met a lot of people.

"Good afternoon," she said, until she realized that he probably couldn't hear her through the glass. Fortunately the door was only a few feet away, and she stepped around it, waving. "Good afternoon."
