Yikes! I think that's worse than my take, actually. I find loss of self much more unsettling than loss of life, and (barring intervention from Valinor) there doesn't seem to be any plausible chance of resistance left in that world, which removes the hope of eventual rescue for the people lost and twisted under the Ring's influence and Galadriel's rule. That's going to stick with me for a while.
